Turn your iPad into a laptop with the NoteBookCase

9to5Mac spotlights an interesting iPad accessory that appears to turn the popular tablet into a miniature MacBook Pro. The NoteBookCase houses your iPad in a clamshell-like case with an Apple-style keyboard.

Of course, there is no shortage of keyboard-packing iPad cases on the market — both Zagg and Kensington make some pretty popular models. But none of them pack near the amount of features as the NoteBookCase...

Loophole discovered that could allow A5 devices to downgrade from iOS 5.1

Folks with newer devices on iOS 5.1 will be happy to hear that iH8sn0w has uncovered a new loophole that could potentially allow users to downgrade their A5 gadgets to the more jailbreak-friendly iOS 5.0.1 in the near future.

As noted by Gadgetsteria, the Sn0wBreeze creator announced yesterday via his Twitter account that he has uncovered a "loophole" in Apple's APticket system that allowed him to downgrade his iPad 2 from 5.1 to 5.0.1...

New iPad already accounts for 5% of total iPad traffic on the web

Analysts have already predicted the new iPad having a record weekend, perhaps selling over a million units of the new tablet. The new iPad out of Cupertino went on sale Friday, and while Apple hasn't sold out in its retail stores yet, demand for the new tablet is said to be high. New customers are especially interested in the iPad's beautiful Retina display.

According to new numbers from advertising network Chitika, the new iPad already accounts for 5% of all iPads that are currently rummaging through the Internet...

iPad 2 vs the new iPad boot up speed test

Which one boots up faster? The answer to this question is pretty obvious if you take into consideration that the new iPad has more technical resources at its disposal than its predecessor.

While the iPad 2 is certainly no slouch in the performance department, the new iPad — as expected — defeated it on boot up tests every time.

The new iPad vs iPad 2 pixel density test

We've managed to get our hands on the new iPad ahead of tomorrow's official launch, and we're taking advantage of it by publishing a wide range of hands-on videos and comparison tests with its predecessor.

Next up in our head-to-head matchup is the new iPad's Retina display vs. the screen of the iPad 2. Since the biggest selling point of the new tablet is obviously its screen, we wanted to see if it lived up to the hype...

iPad (3rd generation) vs iPad 2 video quality test

Among the new features you'll find in Apple's latest tablet is a much-improved backside camera. The iPad 2 was often criticized for its disappointing rear shooter, so needless to say this was a welcome upgrade.

For the most part, the new iPad's camera setup uses the same lens system as the iPhone 4S, and is capable of shooting videos in full 1080p. How does it stack up against the iPad 2's video camera? Keep reading to find out...

I0n1c has jailbroken iOS 5.1 on the iPad 2

Ever since Apple released iOS 5.1 last week, a lot of folks have been wondering when the new software would be jailbroken. Older devices can use RedSn0w to perform a tethered jailbreak of sorts, but it's not really a viable solution.

Then a few days ago we told you that pod2g, the hacker largely responsible for the Corona and Absinthe jailbreaks, was working on finding vulnerabilities in iOS 5.1. But it looks like i0n1c has beaten him to the punch...

First reviews of the new iPad hit the web

How to install iPhoto and iMovie on iOS 5.0.1

iPhoto was the big new app release that Apple touted at its new iPad media event, but the bad news is that it requires iOS 5.1.

For those of us with jailbroken iPhone 4S' and iPad 2's, this places us in an interesting predicament.

Since there is no way to jailbreak iOS 5.1 on these devices, updating now would not only prevent us from jailbreaking, but it would also prevent us from downgrading back to iOS 5.0.1 now that Apple has closed the signing window for that firmware.

So, what to do? Fortunately, there's an easy workaround to this problem, and we're going to walk you through the process on video...

eBay offering up to $475 for your old iPad

It's iPad upgrade time, but if you'd rather move your old iPad on before stumping up the cash for a brand new one, then eBay may be the place to check out.

Depending on your particular flavor of iPad 2, you could be looking to receive anything between $290 and $475 via Paypal, assuming your device is in good condition...
