iOS 9

Jailbreak tweaks of the week: MoonPhase, Pasithea 2, Temporal, & more…

It's been a nice breath of fresh air for the last few weeks as the Yalu jailbreak for iOS 10 has helped keep the jailbreak community afloat. While the relentless releases of jailbreak tweaks have been a lot to keep up with, no one here at iDB has anything bad to say about that!

In this roundup, we'll go over all the jailbreak tweaks that are new in Cydia as of this week, starting with our favorites and then moving on to everything else afterwards.

iOS 9.3.5 downgrade tool for 32-bit devices coming soon

As some of you may have seen from my tweet yesterday, there is some exciting news afoot for owners of 32-bit devices on iOS 9.

A group of developers including alitek12, ee_csw and Trevor Schmitt have stated that they are working on a downgrade solution which will allow users of legacy devices to escape from iOS 9.3.5 and return to a jailbreakable iOS 9 firmware.

TapTap Statusbar lets you hide and show your Status Bar with a tap

There may be times when you actually want to see your Status Bar, but sometimes you might feel just the opposite and have the desire to hide it away from view. One might want to do this when inside of certain apps where the Status Bar appears on top of an interface, like in the Pokémon GO app, for instance.

With a new free jailbreak tweak called TapTap Statusbar by pxcex, you can easily hide or show your Status Bar on demand with a simple tap gesture.

This tweak hides the background of the predictive keyboard

If you ever use the predictive keyboard to type faster responses to people from your device, then you’re likely familiar with those ugly separator lines in between the suggested words and the unappealing difference in background color that the buttons have when compared with the rest of the keyboard.

A new free jailbreak tweak called KB - NoPredictiveBackground by pxcex removes the background color and lines from the predictive keyboard buttons, leaving you with much cleaner-looking buttons.

Jailbreak tweaks of the week: ClearBadges3DTouch10, HideMeX, LockGlyphX, & more…

The jailbreak community has been launching some really awesome tweaks for iOS since the Yalu iOS 10 jailbreak dropped. These last few weeks have been pretty interesting, and this past week has been just as exciting.

In this roundup, we'll talk about all the jailbreak tweaks that were released this week, starting with our favorites and then getting to the rest afterwards.

This tweak brings a touch of Android Nougat to your iPhone

It seems almost like releasing jailbreak tweaks to make iOS look more like Android Nougat are becoming a trend.

It was just around a week ago we showed you a tweak that could make Home screen folders look more like those from Android Nougat, and now another release called NougatShortcuts by Ben Giannis makes 3D Touch menus on the Home screen look more like menu options from Android Nougat.

Jailbreak tweaks of the week: App Center, Falcon, ReformX, & more…

It's been pretty busy in the jailbreak community these last couple of weeks, mostly due to the release of the Yalu iOS 10 jailbreak just a few weeks ago, but no one around here is complaining about that!

In this roundup, we'll be summarizing all of the jailbreak tweaks that we showed you this week, just in case you think you might have missed anything important. We'll start with our favorites and then move on to the rest afterwards.

Jailbreak tweaks of the week: AppCon, DoNotAnnoy, Unify, & more…

The iOS 10 jailbreak is nothing short of a hot commodity since it became stable enough to use, and jailbreak developers are taking advantage of it, left and right, to release smashing new jailbreak tweaks that let you change the way your jailbroken iPhone or iPad works.

In this roundup, we'll show you all of the jailbreak tweaks that were released this week, starting with our favorites and then wrapping up with the rest of them afterwards.

Sonus is a highly customizable volume HUD replacement for iPhone and iPad

The volume HUD in iOS has always left a lot to be desired; it pops up in the center of the screen and then seemingly lingers for an eternity, all while getting in the way of everything, whether you’re watching videos, looking at photos, browsing the web, or doing anything else while trying to change your device’s volume level.

A new jailbreak tweak called Sonus by ubik is just one of many attempts to make the volume HUD better in iOS, and unlike much of the competition out there, it has a lot of options that you can take advantage of to deck out the tweak and make it look and feel the way you want it to.

AccessWithinApps prevents launch of Control and Notification Centers in specific apps

Control Center and Notification Center each can be accessed from any mobile app by swiping up from the bottom of the screen or swiping down from the top of the screen. In some apps, this gesture conflicts with the those that already exist in the app.

While Apple helps to mitigate issues by providing users with the ‘second chance grabber’ in full-screen apps, some apps still don’t play nicely because the gesture is too close to other functions in the app. Giving you more control over this matter is a new free jailbreak tweak called AccessWithinApps by Cole Cabral.

Mitsuha adds a wave animation to the Now Playing screen in the iOS 9 Music app

Although many people are using the Yalu iOS 10 jailbreak these days, some remained on iOS 9.3.3 with the Pangu jailbreak. If you’re one of these people, then you’ll be happy to know that developers are still making tweaks specifically for your firmware.

A new free jailbreak tweak called Mitsuha by c0ldra1n is just one example, and this tweak will improve the look and feel of your Music app by providing a sleek ‘Jell-O’ wave effect in the Now Playing interface any time music is playing.
