Infamous iOS hacker and Sn0wBreeze creator iH8sn0w just released a major update for his iFaith application. Like TinyUmbrella, iFaith allows you to save your device’s SHSH blobs, which are needed to preserve your ability to downgrade firmware in the future.
The update supports iOS versions up to 5.0.1, but isn’t yet compatible with A5 iDevices. There also doesn’t seem to be a Mac version available. But if you own an A4 device and have access to a Windows computer, we highly recommend you download the new iFaith… Read More

As you may recall, we’ve recommended that jailbreakers stay away from updating. It could ruin your chances of a proper iOS 5 jailbreak. But for those of you who couldn’t wait, Sn0wBreeze was just updated to support the new software with a tethered jailbreak… Read More

As is always the case when a new release of iOS comes out, jailbreaking can cause a few weird and wonderful things to happen with certain apps.
One such oddity is the way jailbroken iOS 5 devices seem unable to run Apple’s iBooks app, with tapping the icon resulting in an immediate crash.
With the new Steve Jobs biography going on sale, not having a working release of iBooks could be a potential deal breaker for many jailbreakers out there, but as this video shows, there may be light at the end of the tunnel… Read More

Why Apple has limited its new Siri personal assistant feature to the iPhone 4S is anyone’s guess. At first it was believed that a lot of the backend of Siri took place on the handset, so it needed the A5’s extra power. But that didn’t prove to be the case.
It was also thought that the service required 1GB of RAM. But it was later revealed that Apple’s new smartphone only contains 512MB, so that can’t be it, either. So then why in the world is Siri limited to the iPhone 4S? Well, maybe it’s not… Read More

Last week we broke the news that jailbreak hacker iH8sn0w was actively working on bringing Siri to iDevices like the 4G iPod touch and iPhone 4. This got a lot of people excited at the possibility of getting access to Siri’s artificial intelligence without having to upgrade to the iPhone 4S.
This morning, the Dev Team’s MuscleNerd sent out a tweet saying that porting Siri to the iPhone 4 or any other iDevice would most likely require piracy, something that the Dev Team has always refused to do… Read More
