iOS 4.3.3 Jailbreak Tools Updated to Address iPhone Vibration Issue

The iPhone Dev Team has just pushed out an update to its Redsn0w and PwnageTool jailbreak utilities for iOS 4.3.3. Redsn0w rc16 and PwnageTool 4.3.3.1 address the side vibration/ringer switch issue for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS owners. The bug is only present on iOS 4.3.3 jailbroken devices.

The bug fix was found by famous iPhone hacker @i0n1c and he doesn't even have an iPhone. For those of you that have already updated to iOS 4.3.3 and jailbroken your iDevice using redsn0w rc15 or PwnageTool 4.3.3, you can install this fix simply by running redsn0w rc16 over your existing 4.3.3 jailbreak. Just uncheck the “Install Cydia” option and check any other options you want. Simple as that...

PwnageTool Jailbreak for iOS 4.3.3 Released

With the release of an updated iOS 4.3.3 untethered jailbreak, the Dev Team has also released an update to PwnageTool for Mac OSX users.

PwnageTool 4.3.3 incorporates i0n1c’s updated iOS 4.3.3 untethered exploit. PwnageTool 4.3.3 will allow you to safely restore to an already jailbroken iOS 4.3.3 firmware and preserve your current 1.59.00 baseband so that you may use UltraSn0w to unlock your iPhone…

Untethered Jailbreak Not Fixed in iOS 4.3.3

Some good news for jailbreakers coming from comex himself. Apparently, Apple hasn't fixed the exploit used by iPhone hacker i0n1c in his 4.3.2 jailbreak. What does that mean? Well it means that you might not be able to jailbreak and untether iOS 4.3.3 right now, but it's just a matter of time.

The Dev Team will most likely update PwnageTool and RedSn0w in the very near future, and provide us with stable and reliable jailbreaks. You can probably also expect iH8Sn0w to update Sn0wBreeze...

The State of the iOS 4.3.2 Jailbreak

There are now several ways to jailbreak your iPhone running iOS 4.3.2. RedSn0w, PwnageTool, and Sn0wBreeze will all jailbreak the iPhone on 4.3.2.

4.3.2 hasn't been out for that long, but i0n1c's untethered exploit has already been implemented into three of the most popular jailbreak tools.

Dev Team Releases PwnageTool Jailbreak for iPhone 4.3.2

Sunday is "funday," so the iPhone Dev Team has just released an update to their PwnageTool jailbreak tool for Mac OSX users. PwnageTool 4.3.2 incorporates i0n1c's updated iOS 4.3.2 untethered exploit. The previous version of PwnageTool was only capable of a tethered jailbreak.

PwnageTool 4.3.2 will allow you to safely restore to an already jailbroken iOS 4.3.2 firmware and preserve your current 1.59.00 baseband so that you can use UltraSn0w to unlock your iPhone...

RedSn0w Updated to Support 4.3.2 Untethered Jailbreak

Only moments ago we told you that i0n1c released his untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.2. The download that i0n1c posted consisted of the jailbreak code, instead of an actual tool for end users.

Right after i0n1c's release, the Dev Team has updated the RedSn0w jailbreak tool with iOS 4.3.2 support. RedSn0w will successfully jailbreak iOS 4.3.2 and is available on both Mac OS X and Windows.

i0n1c Releases iOS 4.3.2 Untethered Jailbreak [Not Really Usable As Is]

While most of you haven't yet upgraded to iOS 4.3.2, there are a few folks out there that did by either accident or design. The minor update only contained fixes for FaceTime and Verizon iPad 2 connection problems.

However, for those that have updated, there are certainly signs that a jailbreak for the new firmware is close. We told you a few days ago that iDevice hacker i0n1c had confirmed via Twitter that the new iOS is vulnerable to his untether used in the 4.3.1 jailbreak. Now he has released the untether for 4.3.2 for anyone interested...

Jailbreak iPhone 4.3.1 with Sn0wBreeze [Tutorial]

iH8sn0w has updated his Windows jailbreak tool, called Sn0wBreeze, with the untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1. Sn0wBreeze is now the third tool available for an untethered jailbreak on iOS 4.3.1 (alongside PwnageTool and RedSn0w).

Sn0wbreeze 2.5 is hardly different from its last beta, except that is uses i0n1c's untethered exploit. An added bonus is that the hidden multitouch gestures in iOS 4.3 are enabled with Sn0wBreeze. These gestures were unearthed a couple of months ago, and iH8sn0w has found a way to enable them in his latest jailbreak tool.

Sn0wBreeze is not recommended for those wishing to preserve their unlock. Again, Sn0wBreeze is Windows only.

Dev Team Releases Jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1

It's here, folks. After weeks of anticipation, the Dev Team just released an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1. This jailbreak is mostly due to the untether exploit found by i0n1c.

This jailbreak works with every device that supports iOS 4.3.1, except for the iPad 2. So to be clear, this jailbreak will work with the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G, and the second generation of Apple TV...

iPhone Dev Team Beta-Testing an Untethered Jailbreak

It seems like all of the eyes in the jailbreak community are on the Dev Team and their associated hackers. Apple introduced iOS 4.3 almost 3 weeks ago and since then we have yet to see an untethered jailbreak come out of the Dev Team's camp.

iPad 2 users, and those that accidentally installed iOS 4.3, are starting to sweat as a jailbreak that was once thought to be released shortly after iOS 4.3 has turned into a 3 week stand off. Well it looks like there has been some breakthroughs from the Dev Team...

Apple Patched Comex’s Exploit in iOS 4.3.1

The cat and mouse game between Apple and jailbreakers is getting intense. Apple got real serious when they added ASLR to iOS 4.3 and forced iDevice hackers back to their drawing boards. But members of the jailbreak community responded, and a tethered jailbreak was quickly made available with a patched mobile substrate file.

The latest move from Apple seems to be a big one. Comex tweeted about an hour ago that his kernel exploit was fixed in Apple's latest version of the firmware, iOS 4.3.1. It was public knowledge that i0n1c and other jailbreakers were specifically waiting for iOS 4.3.1 to be released to prevent something like this from happening...
