XB-WakeDevice lets you customize how you wake your handset

Just yesterday we showed you a jailbreak tweak called DownLocker that permitted users to lock their handset by placing it face-down on a desk or tabletop; but today, we’re excited to show you a new free jailbreak tweak called XB-WakeDevice by iOS developer Oliver Crespo that lets users customize how they wake their handset back up again, among other things.

While the Raise to Wake feature reigns supreme on many of Apple’s latest handsets, the same can’t be said about all iPhones and iPads. Furthermore, not everyone uses Raise to Wake, and XB-WakeDevice appeals to both of these somewhat ‘niche’ audiences.

Switchy: a webOS-inspired App Switcher for jailbroken iOS devices

Most iPhone and iPad users are accustomed to using Apple’s native App Switcher when they want to access recently-used apps, but jailbreakers have access to a wide variety of jailbreak tweaks that can replace the native App Switcher experience with something much cooler.

With that in mind, we’re proud to show you Switchy, a jailbreak tweak made by iOS developer William Vabrinskas that brings a webOS-style App Switcher to jailbroken iPhones and iPads.

AirWave brings more media control gestures to your iPhone when AirPods are connected

Just a few days ago, we showed you a new jailbreak tweak called Siliqua 2 that empowered users to customize the stock gesture system on any pair of AirPods, but why stop there? A new free release called AirWave by iOS developer Michael Lema can provide you with at least two more customizable gestures whenever a pair of AirPods are actively paired with your handset.

While Siliqua 2 focused primarily on changing the outcome of your AirPods’ native tap gestures, AirWave brings two previously non-existent gestures to your device: 1) double-pressing your iPhone or iPad’s power button when AirPods are connected; and 2) triple-pressing your iPhone or iPad’s power button when AirPods are connected.

Launchtron is a side-oriented quick app launcher for jailbroken devices

iOS is an outstanding mobile operating system, but it often leaves a lot to be desired in the multitasking department, especially on the iPhone. Luckily, the jailbreak community usually has some sort of remedy for problems of this nature.

A new free jailbreak tweak called Launchtron by iOS developer Nepeta is just one of such remedies; it’s fundamentally a quick-access app launcher that you can summon from just about anywhere with a swipe. Furthermore, it can help you access apps more quickly than you could with iOS’ native App Switcher.

LSPullToDismiss clears all pending notifications from the Lock screen with a pull gesture

If you’re more popular than the average individual, then you probably get barraged with iMessages and other notifications as you sleep and throughout the day. iOS automatically stacks these missed notifications on your Lock screen to be reviewed later, and you can clear them individually or all in one fell swoop with a 3D Touch gesture.

Apple’s 3D Touch implementation in this regard is neat, but it’s not perfect, and it’s very much a two-step process. A free jailbreak tweak called LSPullToDismiss by iOS developer SparkDev reduces the number of steps required to clear all Lock screen notifications at one time, and it feels more natural than a 3D Touch gesture would.

XEdgeProtect prevents the iPhone X’s Home Bar from conflicting with apps and jailbreak tweaks

Starting with last year’s iPhone X, Apple nixed the Home Button from its entire lineup of smartphones and replaced it with the software-based Home Bar. The Home Bar resides at the bottom of your display, quietly waiting for upward swipe gestures for unlocking the handset or closing foregrounded apps.

The Home Bar compliments the iOS experience like bread and butter, and it also empowered Apple to achieve the signature edge-to-edge OLED display that many of us know and love, but it’s not without its quirks. Fortunately, a new free jailbreak tweak called XEdgeProtect by iOS developer smokin1337 addresses some of these issues.

The iPhone X doesn’t have a Home button like traditional iPhones do. Instead, Apple has users swiping up from the bottom of the display to leave applications and unlock the handset.

But even if you’re still rocking a traditional Home button-equipped iPhone, you can take advantage of a new free jailbreak tweak dubbed HomeGesture by iOS developer MidnightChips to simulate the iPhone X-like swipe gestures on unsupported devices.

While the notch is one of the iPhone X’s most distinguishable features, so too is the missing Home button, which has been replaced with a new gesture bar.

Unfortunately, Apple doesn’t provide any customization options for said gesture bar, but a new free jailbreak tweak called LS Gesture Bar Colour (iPhone X) by iOS developer Justin Petkovic provides you with the customization that you might be looking for.

This tweak hides the Home Bar at the bottom of the iPhone X

The iPhone X lacks a Home Button, so Apple created the Home Bar to take its place. Swiping up on the Home Bar lets users unlock their device, return home from apps, and access the App Switcher, but the Home Bar itself isn’t very aesthetically-pleasing in the long run.

Given the circumstances, a new free jailbreak tweak called ByeHomeBottomBarX by iOS developer CydiaGeek has been released in Cydia this week. As the name suggests, this tweak efficiently hides the Home Bar from view.

PullToClear lets you clear pending notifications with a pull gesture

PullToClear is a new free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer CreatureSurvive that lets you quickly and effortlessly every unread notification from either Notification Center or the Lock screen.

Once installed, you can pull down from either interface to reveal the hidden “Pull To Clear” action, as shown above. Pulling down further reveals the “Release To Clear” action.
