Beautiful iPhone 5 Concept Design

by Cody on Jun 29, 2011

It seems like everyone and their dog has their own opinion of what Apple’s next smartphone will look like. While most people believe that the next iPhone will look relatively similar to its predecessor, others feel a more radical change is on the way.

Then you have the folks that think that both will show up this fall. So which is it? If rumors have confirmed one thing, it’s that we really don’t know what Apple is planning for the next iPhone. But here’s hoping it looks something like this… Read More

iPhone 5 Will Be Significant Redesign with August Announcement?

by Alex Heath on Jun 21, 2011

A new rumor from Boy Genius Report claims that Apple’s next gen iPhone will in fact be a major revamp of the current iPhone 4. As the above concept from This is my next shows, the iPhone 5/4S could very well have a slimmer, ‘teardrop’ design with an aluminum back.

BGR’s sources peg the next iPhone announcement for August, instead of the September reports we’ve been hearing. Instead of an unveiling at Apple’s usual music event in September, Apple could break tradition and hold a stand-alone event for the next iPhone in mid August. Read More

Third party widgets have already been made available that mirror functionality in tweaks like SBSettings. Themes are starting to get introduced for different widgets, and several concepts have surfaced that re-think the look of the Notification Center itself.

We’ve gathered three of the best Notification Center concepts, and they look beautiful. Let’s hope that jailbreak devs will start distributing themes like these for Notification Center in iOS 5… Read More

MobileNotifier Beta4: iOS Notifications the Right Way

by Alex Heath on May 27, 2011

Notifications in iOS have always sucked. Let’s be honest, whether you’ve grown to actually like and/or tolerate Apple’s system for push notifications on the iPhone, you still have to look at other platforms like Android and Palm OS and scratch your head.

Apple got one thing right: making sure you see your notifications in iOS. The problem is that there is no method of queuing, collecting, or saving notifications. When something gets pushed from an app, you have to deal with it right away.

Luckily, we have the jailbreak community to thank for several wonderful alternatives to the stock system of notifications in iOS. My favorite is called MobileNotifier. Let’s take a closer look… Read More

Mac Funamizu is a freelance designer. He has a blog where he posts concept designs and some pretty cool wallpapers. TUAW reported on his latest project this morning and I must say, it’s very interesting.

Is This What the iPhone 5 Will Look Like?

by Alex Heath on Apr 23, 2011

A new report from This is my next reveals some interesting rumors about the iPhone 5. According to Joshua Topolsky (the former editor-in-chief of Engadget), the iPhone 5 will in fact be a significant redesign of the current iPhone 4.

Topolsky doesn’t cite specific sources, but he claims that the iPhone 5 will have a design very similar to that of the fourth-generation iPod touch. Engadget originally said that the iPhone 5 would be a major evolution of the iPhone 4, and this report from This is my next corroborates that claim. Read More

by Alex Heath on Apr 21, 2011

Speculation has been that Apple could possibly introduce an LTE/4G iPhone in the coming year. Some even thought that Apple pushed back the iPhone 5′s announcement to wait for LTE saturation in the U.S.

Will we see an iPhone 4G this September? According to both Apple and the LTE industry, it doesn’t look hopeful…

The folks at Tapbots have done it again. Tweetbot is a new Twitter client for the iPhone that’s made quite a splash. Not many apps can be described as “joyful UI design” or ”an excellent innovator of the Twitter platform.” Some would say the app even “feels like a privilege“ to use.

Tweetbot may very well be the app that gives the official Twitter client a run for its money. Let’s take a look… Read More
