After a bit of a shaky start, the Chronic Dev Team has finally released the much anticipated greenpois0n jailbreak, and it’s available for download now. Much like the already released limera1n, this jailbreak allows you to jailbreak iPhone running iOS 4.1 and iOS 4.2.1.
The GreenPois0n download is now available for both Windows and Mac, and a Linux version might be in the works. GreenPois0n will allow you to jailbreak the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad, iPod Touch 3G, and iPod Touch 4G.
You can download GreenPois0n from our downloads section.
If you’re not sure how to use it, you may want to refer to our guide on how to jailbreak the iPhone using GreenPois0n.

After a couple of days delay, the greenpois0n jailbreak was finally released early this morning. As you all have probably heard, the highly anticipated jailbreak was delayed due to the fact that Geohot released his jailbreak — entitled limera1n — shortly before greenpois0n was scheduled to be released.
As a result the Chronic Dev Team opted to use the same exploit Geohot used, instead of simultaneously releasing their infamous SHAtter into the wild for Apple to eventually stamp out. The release, though, hasn’t been without it’s fair share of problems…

LimeRa1n came out yesterday creating a bit of controversy in the jailbreak community. Because it revealed a different exploit from SHAtter, releasing GreenPois0n today would have given away those 2 exploits to Apple for them to patch in a near update.
Like I expected yesterday, Chronic Dev Team decided to do the right thing, and postpone the release of GreenPois0n so they have time to work on it while including the new exploit found by Geohot. Today the Chronic Dev Team officially spoke about the whole situation. This is what they had to say. No need to say they are pissed… Read More

Yesterday we broke the news about the potential come back of Geohot and LimeRa1n, a new jailbreak-it-all tool that will supposedly be released next Monday, a day after GreenPois0n scheduled release date. At first I was very skeptical about it and to be honest with you, I still am.
However it’s been confirmed by all the big wigs that LimeRa1n is indeed for real and that it will most likely drop on Monday. Here is what we know so far… Read More

We just got a bit of clarification from the Chronic Dev Team who confirmed that GreenPois0n will only jailbreak the iPhone 4, iPad, and iPod Touch 4G. The news was later confirmed by MuscleNerd who made it clear that GreenPois0n will only work for iDevices boasting Apple’s A4 chip.
As a reminder, GreenPoison is supposed to ship this Sunday. We’ll get those guides and tutorials published asap! In the meanwhile, stay tuned for more GreenPois0n news as it becomes available. Read More

That’s an interesting tweet that pod2g, the hacker would found out the SHAtter exploit, sent out a couple hours ago in reply to someone asking when we should expect to see GreenPois0n released. According to him, the long awaited GreenPois0n jailbreak for iOS 4.1 will be released in days.
A few days ago the Dev Team demoed a perfectly working PwnageTool jailbreak that took advantage of the SHAtter exploit and successfully jailbroke an iPod 4G. There is every reason to believe that the Chronic Dev Team is near completion here… Read More

Folks, we just got one step closer to an official release of the iOS 4.1 jailbreak promised by the Chronic Dev Team thanks to the SHAtter exploit discovered by pod2g.
In a video posted on their blog today, the Dev Team showed off an iPod Touch 4G jailbroken with PwnageTool. The Dev Team was able to use the SHAtter exploit to install a custom firmware on the iPod Touch 4G, and was successful in getting the basics covered, such as Cydia, customized preferences, root access, etc… Read More

It seems GreenPois0n is going to be the next jailbreak for iOS 4.1 thanks to a new bootrom exploit that will supposedly work for the iPhone 4, the iPad, as well as the new iPod Touch.
Because everyone wants to know what’s going on, the Chronic Dev Team gave a “no-update update” on their blog about the future potential GreenPois0n jailbreak, saying things were going swimmingly, to paraphrase them.
I guess the team has been receiving many emails and tweets from people eagerly waiting for a jailbreak for iOS 4.1. Here is the full update given by the Chronic Dev Team: Read More

The “Fun Day” is arriving as Chronic Dev Team is working hard to release their first ever all iDevices jailbreak tool named GreenPois0n. It took them a while to release the Greenpois0n jailbreak as it was announced earlier this year but they were never able to push it out as promised.
Chronic Dev Team and their Greenpois0n were even blamed to be fake as they accepted donations but never made a release. Some days ago, they made a strike by revealing a new bootrom exploit named SHAtter Exploit. This achievement means that iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G, and iPad are jailbroken for life until Apple introduces hardware change in the devices by replacing the bootrom. Read More
