A Quick Look at the New Cydia

by Sebastien on Nov 5, 2010

When Cydia acquired Rock a couple months ago, Saurik acknowledged that Cydia was in great need of a facelift, and said that Chpwn was actually working on it to make it look better. Things aren’t going as fast as we’d want them to, but there is still some progress made by Chpwn.

MuscleNerd tweeted this screenshot of the new Cydia earlier. That was pretty exciting until I saw this tweet from Chpwn who basically said it was all they had done on the new Cydia for the time being… Read More

PwnageTool iPhone Jailbreak for Windows Coming Soon?

by Sebastien on Nov 1, 2010

According to a tweet from MuscleNerd, iPhone jailbreak developer Chpwn will soon start working on a Windows version of the PwnageTool jailbreak. To date, PwnageTool is a Mac only jailbreak that allows you to update your iPhone to a jailbroken firmware while preserving the baseband so you can unlock your iPhone.

The news about PwnageTool for Windows came from an argument between MuscleNerd and iH8Sn0w on Twitter. I’ve never been a huge fan of iH8Sn0w and his Sn0wBreeze tool, and it seems that the Dev Team isn’t either… Read More

Enable Private Browsing on Your iPhone with Covert

by Sebastien on Sep 21, 2010

Covert is a new jailbreak application by Chpwn that lets you enable private browsing on Safari. Let’s imagine you want to browse those favorite dirty sites of yours but you don’t want your girlfriend to snoop in your browser history and realize you’ve been watching 2 girls and a cup for the 50th time, then Covert is for you.

I certainly hope that’s not what you will use Covert for, but at least you get my point. This being said, this is how to use Covert… Read More

Rock Your Phone is Dead. Long Live Cydia!

by Sebastien on Sep 13, 2010

The news fell a couple days ago that Rock Your Phone had been acquired by Cydia. This is without a doubt the biggest business move ever made in the jailbreak community, and it is a clear sign of the potential of “underground apps”.

I’ve never been a huge fan of Rock even though it had some really neat features. We’ll all remember how fast it loaded as well as its backup feature, among others. Is this going to come to Cydia now that Rock is dead? Read More

Tweak Tracker Lets You Submit and Vote for iPhone Jailbreak Mods

by Sebastien on Sep 5, 2010

Chpwn, one of my favorite jailbreak apps developers, came up with a brilliant idea to figure out what mods and jailbreak apps iPhone users want and need. It’s called Tweak Tracker and it’s dead simple.

Anyone can submit tweaks or apps ideas to the website. Then anyone can vote on those same ideas. The one that make it to the top obviously get more chances of being developed. Read More

by Sebastien on Sep 5, 2010

Have you ever been annoyed by the badges showing on the folders of your iPhone? Personally, it never bugged me but Chpwn, the developer of No Folder Badges must think otherwise.

No Folder Badges is a new tweak available in Cydia that does one single thing: removing the folder badges (ie. badges for available app updates, unread emails, etc…). Read More

Five Icon Switcher Tweak for iPhone

by Sebastien on Aug 19, 2010

Five Icon Switcher is a new mod by Chpwn that, just like the name suggests, brings an additional icon to your iPhone multitasking switcher. Not groundbreaking but simple and very convenient. That’s the kind of mods I like!

InfiniFolders Lets You Add Unlimited Icons to Your iPhone Folders

by Sebastien on Aug 4, 2010

InfiniFolders is a new application that lets you add unlimited icons to your folders. Currently you are limited to 12 apps per folder but InfiniFolders will lift this restriction and allow you to have unlimited icons in each folder.

Very similar to InfiniBoard, you can access your apps inside folders through a flick up and down.

InfiniFolders is available in Cydia for $1.99. It was developed by Chpwn, one of my favorite jailbreak app developer, who previously brought us InfiniBoard and InfiniDock.

Let us know how you like InfiniFolders if you choose to download it.
