We’re now just a few days away from the World Cup, and Apple has announced that it has made it easier to follow along with the action using its devices and services. Siri, iBooks and Apple News have all been updated with new content for the big event.
iOS 11.2 users can now get their spoken daily news brief from a variety of sources, like NPR, BBC, Sky News or The Washington Post, just by asking Siri hands-free to get you some news. Doing so automatically launches an appropriate third-party news podcast in Apple’s Podcasts app.
A new report alleges that Apple News may soon support ad delivery via networks like Google’s DoubleClick for Publishers while allowing readers to pay a small fee to read stories from publishers like WSJ which are locked behind a paywall.
