Some things just blow our minds here at iDB. One such thing is the lengths some people will go to in order to analyze something that most of us find mildly interesting at best, and the epitome of that is the work WIRED‘s Rhett Allain has been doing on the Angry Birds games.
Now, don’t take that as a sign that we don’t think his research is indeed super awesome, because it is. It’s just that we’re not convinced we find it as awesome as Rhett does. Or, perhaps, we’re just not clever enough to get our collective heads around it!
The series of posts that Rhett Allain has been working on delve into the inner workings of Angry Birds, and more importantly, into how we can better understand the game with the aim of flinging birds from catapults. Told you it was awesome… Read More

We’ve already shown you the iPhone 4S that got sent into space, and now we’re back with the news that two iPads will visit the International Space Station next month.
The iPad will be the first tablet sent into space, and NASA will continue to experiment on how to use tablets on future space missions. Accompanying the iPads on their maiden voyage will be, you guessed it, an Angry Birds plush doll. Read More

Have you ever wanted something, but you’re not entirely sure what you’d use it for, or even why you want it in the first place? Well, that’s exactly the predicament we find ourselves in when looking at these Angry Birds speaker docks.
Manufactured by well-known accessory company Gear4, the speakers come in two flavors – the pigs are actually iPod speaker docks, and the bird version serves as plug-and-play speakers. You’ve gotta love it… Read More

The legal team over at Lodsys doesn’t seem to have been phased at all by Apple’s cease and desist letter, or attempt to intervene in the patent dispute. Not only is the company not backing down, they’ve actually upped the ante.
FOSSPatents reported yesterday that Lodsys has amended its patent complaint and modified the list of defendants. 5 new companies were added to Lodsys’ infringement case, including Electronic Arts, Take-Two Interactive, Atari, Square Enix and Rovio- the makers of Angry Birds… Read More

Gaming on iOS devices is taking off these days, with titles such as Angry Birds and Infinity Blade proving as big sellers for their respective development houses.
In fact, those two games are named as the inspiration behind a new title that’s due to be released next month, going by the ominous name of The Dark Meadow.
Promising to be a ‘modern fairytale’ type affair, The Dark Meadow has only been in production for three months, which shows the quick turnaround that the game’s Unreal Engine affords… Read More

What’s better than a Angry Birds cake? Maybe this real life Angry Birds game. I have to admit I am getting a bit tired of the game, but for some reason, I can’t have enough of those videos parodying the most famous birds on earth.
I’m not sure what this video is about, but if my Spanish is still good, I believe it’s the shooting of a commercial for some Angry Birds related product… Read More

I know Sebastien has a well documented adoration for the Tiny Wings theme song, but let’s not forget who started the popular bird trend.
Angry Birds recently received their own theme song cover treatment, courtesy of indie cover band Pomplamoose.
Strangely enough, they’re using a Samsung phone throughout the video, which isn’t really giving props where it’s due since in my opinion, no one would know Angry Birds without the iPhone… Read More
