Target Announces You Can Trade Them Your iPhone for a Gift Card

I’ll warn you ahead of time, this is a ridiculous piece of news. The folks over at Target have come up with a plan that will allow you to trade in your iPhone or iPod Touch to receive your very own gift card with the amount you’re granted in return.

China’s iPhone Carrier is Offering In-Store Jailbreaking

This is definitely going to make uncle Steve angry. TUAW reports that China Unicom is offering to jailbreak their customers iPhones directly from the very store they sell the devices from.

Apparently the staff will gladly hack the apparent iPhone 3GS devices (the iPhone 4 hasn’t been released yet), or cut the SIM card down to fit the micro size on those who have opted to buy an iPhone 4 through alternative outlets. Apple Bans JailbreakMe From Its Stores

Well, it only took Apple 4 days to realize they should block access to JailbreakMe.com from their stores’ wifi network to stop those pranksters from jailbreaking iPhones, iPads and iPods. According to 9 to 5 Mac, pointing a device to www.JailbreakMe.com from inside the store redirects to Apple’s website.

I’m sure Ethan will be happy about that.
