Sn0wBreeze Updated for iOS 5 Beta 7 Support

Today, jailbreak hacker iH8sn0w released Sn0wbreeze v2.8b7. This update now includes support for iOS 5 Beta 7. Sn0wbreeze is a jailbreak tool for Windows. Also, if you are new to jailbreaking, you can check our general guide here, and our Sn0wbreeze guide here.

The last couple releases of Sn0wbreeze let you use iOS 5 betas without having a developer account and an activated UDID. Along with that, it removes the expiration of betas, making sure the beta will not expire on your device as it is supposed to do at a preset date and time...

Sn0wBreeze Jailbreak Updated for iOS 5 Beta 6, Allows Installation Without Registered UDID

The Sn0wBreeze jailbreak tool has been updated to version 2.8b6 with support for iOS 5 Beta 6. This jailbreak is Windows only.

If you don't know how to use Sn0wbreeze, check out our tutorial. This jailbreak is mostly tethered, except for the old-bootrom iPhone 3GS. This version of Sn0wBreeze will also let you install the jailbreak on a copy of iOS 5 Beta 6 without a registered UDID.

Apple seeded beta number 6 of iOS 5 to developers today. And while some folks are rushing out to download the new software, others are waiting for word on if and when it will be jailbroken.

Sn0wBreeze 2.8 Beta 5 has been released by iH8snow for Windows users. This version jailbreaks iOS 5 Beta 5, and also includes a few handy features along the way.

This is a tethered jailbreak. A notable feature in this release is the abiltiity to install iOS 5 and skip the UDID developer check, meaning you don't have to be a developer to install the iOS 5 beta (providing you have the firmware downloaded)...

Sn0wBreeze Updated for iOS 5 Beta 3 to Fix Problem with Apps Crashing

Apple released iOS 5 Beta 3 yesterday, and it was quickly confirmed that you could jailbreak Apple's newest beta build with last month's version of the popular jailbreaking tool, RedSn0w. A "sandboxing" error was discovered after jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 3 that caused all apps from the App Store to crash instantly upon being opened.

This problem has now been fixed in the updated version of the Windows jailbreak tool, Sn0wBreeze, and the Dev Team has also updated RedSn0w with the same fix. Happy jailbreaking!

Apple seeded the 2nd beta of their iOS 5 software to developers last Friday. As typical of any new iOS firmware release, we have been asked if the new update can be jailbroken and unlocked.

Though we've heard the disappointing news that the new firmware has patched the Gevey SIM unlock, the software is certainly still jailbreakable. RedSn0w was the first to announce compatibility with the new beta, but Sn0wBreeze wasn't far behind...

iH8sn0w's popular jailbreak tool for Windows, Sn0wBreeze, has been updated with support for an untethered iOS 5 jailbreak on the iPhone 3GS. iOS 5 is still in the Beta 1 stage, and Sn0wBreeze Beta 2 is the first method available for an untethered iOS 5 jailbreak on the iPhone 3GS.

Thanks to the old bootrom on the 3GS, users can enjoy a fully untethered iOS 5 Beta 1 jailbreak with the newly released Sn0wBreeze update.

Apple announced a major software update for iDevices last week, iOS 5. The new firmware will introduce over 200 new features in iOS, and is expected to seriously impact the jailbreak community.

It appears that jailbreak developer iH8sn0w has been causing some commotion in the Twitter world over the weekend. The 16 year-old iPhone hacker has made quite a name for himself in the community over the past few years, and it doesn't look like he's slowing down anytime soon.

The Toronto-native has been advertising on the popular social site that he is going to unveil an all new, never-before-seen -- well, we're not sure. Whatever it is though, the young hacker seems to be pretty excited about it...

iOS 4.3.3 Jailbreak Tools Updated to Address iPhone Vibration Issue

The iPhone Dev Team has just pushed out an update to its Redsn0w and PwnageTool jailbreak utilities for iOS 4.3.3. Redsn0w rc16 and PwnageTool 4.3.3.1 address the side vibration/ringer switch issue for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS owners. The bug is only present on iOS 4.3.3 jailbroken devices.

The bug fix was found by famous iPhone hacker @i0n1c and he doesn't even have an iPhone. For those of you that have already updated to iOS 4.3.3 and jailbroken your iDevice using redsn0w rc15 or PwnageTool 4.3.3, you can install this fix simply by running redsn0w rc16 over your existing 4.3.3 jailbreak. Just uncheck the “Install Cydia” option and check any other options you want. Simple as that...

Everything You Need to Know About iOS 4.3.3 Jailbreak

Apple released iOS 4.3.3 (4.2.8 for Verizon iPhones) last Wednesday, less than three weeks after the previous software update. The new firmware included a fix for the location tracking file that Apple has gotten into so much water over (is that considered Cider?).

Chances are, most of you didn't consider 4.3.3 big enough to update from 4.3.2. But with the Verizon iPad 2 problem fixed and the infamous tracking bug patched, we may not see another update until iOS 5 is released. If that's the case, then this will likely be the last jailbreak for several months, so why not update?

Most of you that have upgraded to Apple's latest firmware, have probably already jailbroken your iDevices using RedSn0w or PwnageTool. If you haven't yet, you may want to give Sn0wbreeze a try. As we reported earlier, the jailbreak software has joined the iOS 4.3.3 party, courtesy of i0n1c's untether.

Although generally mentioned last when discussing jailbreak options, Sn0wbreeze is still a good choice for jailbreakers looking to hack their iDevices with ease. It's especially useful for folks with Verizon iPhones, as the software created by iH8sn0w is currently the only way to jailbreak 4.2.8...
