With 85 Million Users, iCloud Plays Big Part in Apple’s Next 10 Years Strategy

Apple’s quarterly earnings call has certainly raised a few eyebrows this time around, with the company reporting huge sales, huge profits and just all around awesomeness. If you’re an Apple shareholder, then you’re probably very happy right about now.

Warning: MobileMe Phishing Scam Poses Security Risk Via Email

It may be nearly Christmas, but that isn’t stopping the bad guys from trying to rip us all off, and the latest victim is Apple’s MobileMe service.

The phishing method is a familiar one – send an email to a few thousand people, ask them for their login credentials and hope that some fall for it. It’s low-tech, but it unfortunately works more often than you would think.

Apple Wants to Let You Merge Your Apple IDs

Apple wants to let you merge multiple Apple IDs, according to an Apple executive relations employee. Users have voiced complaints about Apple’s confusing policy relating to logins and accessing purchased content through multiple Apple IDs. A remedy for the situation is in the works.

Apple Confirms iCloud Will Have Web Apps

Apple has published a transition Q&A that outlines how MobileMe’s services will be dissolved and transitioned into iCloud offerings. As of June 30, 2012, MobileMe will cease to exist, and Gallery, iWeb and iDisk will be discontinued.

We’re less than 24 hours away from the big opening to WWDC 2011 now, and the rumors are still flying as to what we will and won’t see when Steve Jobs puts sneaker to stage at the Moscone Center. The latest buzz comes courtesy of Apple fanboy and tech pundit John Gruber, with the Daring Fireball himself sharing his thoughts on tomorrow’s announcements.

Apple issued a very unusual press release earlier today that outlined what would be announced at the World Wide Developer’s Conference next Monday, June 6th. Steve Jobs will be speaking and talking about Mac OS X Lion, iOS 5, and the newly-confirmed ‘iCloud service.
