Photoshop maker today released two new iPad apps on the App Store, Adobe Proto and Adobe Collage. If you’re fond of prototyping apps or programs that let you sketch ideas, and are a user of Adobe’s CS suit of desktop applications, you may wanna consider these programs.

Adobe updates iOS Reader with sticky notes, PDF forms, digital signing

by Christian Zibreg on Apr 10, 2012

Adobe ported its PDF reader app to the iOS platform last October, but the software’s been slow to catch on with users as iOS already sports basic built-in PDF support and Adobe’s app did little to build on this foundation with new capabilities.

An update that just went live on the App Store aims to rectify this with the ability to digitally sign PDF documents using your finger, comment stuff with sticky notes, underscore parts of the document with new highlight tools and more… Read More

Photoshop Touch is iPad 2 only, and can be purchased from the App Store for $9.99. Take a look and tell us what you think.

Adobe Manager Explains Why Mobile Flash Failed

by Cody on Nov 12, 2011

Last week, Adobe announced that it was going to be discontinuing its work on its mobile Flash player. The news wasn’t that surprising, but it seemed to catch a lot of folks off-guard. There was even some confusion regarding the company’s decision to end the project.

With that in mind, Adobe’s Principal Product Manager for developer relations on the Flash platform, Mike Chambers, took to his blog yesterday. He felt that he needed to clear the air on why Adobe chose to nix the mobile Flash project… Read More

Steve Jobs to Adobe: “I Told You So”

by Cody on Nov 9, 2011

With Adobe’s recent announcement on the discontinuation of its mobile Flash plug-in, we are reminded of an open letter Steve Jobs wrote last year regarding the topic. The letter was in response to Adobe’s public criticism of Apple for omitting the technology from its products.

In the public letter, Jobs lists several sensible reasons why Apple has decided not to include Flash support in its mobile products. The post explains these reasons clearly and thoroughly, and is a tribute to Jobs’ remarkable writing abilities… Read More

Adobe to Stop Work on Mobile Flash, Concentrate on HTML5

by Cody on Nov 9, 2011

Apple has taken a lot of heat over the last four years due to the fact that its mobile products lack support for Adobe’s Flash platform. Since the iPhone’s introduction in 2007, not one of Apple’s mobile devices has included the plug-in.

by Cody on Oct 17, 2011

Adobe and Apple don’t always see eye-to-eye. And the Cupertino company’s continuous omission of Adobe’s Flash technology from its iOS platform certainly hasn’t helped matters. But regardless of their history, the two remain frenemies.

In fact, Adobe just pushed out a version of its popular Reader application for the iOS platform. It allows you to view and interact with several types of PDF files including those protected by encryption and Adobe’s LiveCycle Rights Management… Read More

by Sebastien on Oct 1, 2011

Are you going to be following Tuesday’s special event? I’m not talking about the upcoming iPhone announcement – who cares about that? I’m talking about the other special event. The one held by Adobe at 10am, where the company is supposed to announce new user experiences both in the browser and in apps.

It is unclear who chose the date and time first, but one thing is sure: I doubt many people will be following Adobe’s announcement while Apple is unveiling its next iPhone… Read More
