Apple Introduces its Own To-Do List Application: Reminders

New features are rolling in for iOS 5. This one is a new application developed directly by Apple, called Reminders. Just like the name suggests, Reminders is a to-do list application.

Besides letting you add to-dos to your list, Reminders will be location aware, and locations will be able to trigger events. For example, you can have a reminder set to say "remind me to call my wife as soon as I leave the office"...

iOS 5 Brings Complete Twitter Integration

As expected, Twitter is going to be a big part of iOS 5. Apple's goal was to make Twitter easier to use in iOS 5, and it seems that they're going to succeed. In iOS 5, Apple has added "Single Sign On," a feature that allows you to login to Twitter directly from your Settings app.

Also as expected, Twitter has been integrated into the Photo and Camera apps. From now on, you can send pictures directly to Twitter without having to launch an app, or rely on a jailbreak tweak. In addition, you can tweet from Safari, from YouTube, or from Maps...

What’s Hiding Behind This WWDC Secret Banner?

A secret banner was spotted at WWDC this morning by Greg Kumparak of TechCrunch. What could be hiding behind this banner? A new logo for iOS? Or maybe some new hardware to go along with the new iOS 5?

Ok, to be honest, I think there will be a new iPhone today. Let my imagination go wild here for a bit. I think the new iPhone is going to look exactly like the iPhone 4, with obviously more power under the hood. I think Steve Jobs is going to make his presentation using this new iPhone 5, and at the end of the keynote, he's going to say: "one more thing, you've watched me do this whole presentation on our new iPhone 5"...

Jailbreakers in Front of the Line at WWDC

Jailbreakers are representing right now at the doors of Moscone Center, for the WWDC 2011. Yesterday night, Saurik was spotted waiting in line to secure a seat during the keynote, and this morning, 9to5Mac did a short video interview with him.

Saurik was asked why there are so many jailbreakers waiting in line for the WWDC. Watch the video to find out his answer...

Read Later Action, a Simple Extension to Submit Articles to Instapaper

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to day #4 of our first TweakWeek, with Ryan Petrich as the challenger. Today's tweak is called Read Action Later, and is a very simple, yet quite handy extension that will allow you to easily send articles to Instapaper via Action Menu.

Obviously, you need to have Action Menu installed before using this tweak. If you don't have Action Menu, then you don't know what you're missing...

iAndroid, an Android Simulator for iPhone

I've never been a big fan of Android. I tried really hard to like Google's mobile operating system but I never really made a deep connection with it. That was until a couple days ago, when I tried iAndroid, an Android simulator for jailbroken iPhone.

We've seen how to port Android to iOS before but it never really was a good set up. Things didn't work well, supported devices were limited, and it just wasn't pretty. Because iAndroid is not a port, but a simulator, it takes care of all these inconveniences to make the best of Android on your iPhone...

Watch this Awesome Music Being Played on an iPad

Isn't it amazing what you can do nowadays with just an iPad and the GarageBand application? Whether you're into music or not, you can only agree that this is a match made in heaven.

A couple weeks ago I shared with you this video of a guy shredding at the guitar on his iPad using GarageBand. In the same style, I'd like you to check out this video of a guy playing a cover of the Cure's "Just Like Heaven"...

How to redeem a promo code in the App Store or iTunes

Redeem Screen in the App Store on iPhone

We sometimes do app giveaways and every time we do one of those, there is someone to ask me how to redeem the promo codes. I really thought that we had already written a post about that, but after doing a quick research, well, turns out we haven't.

In this post, I will show you how to quickly and easily redeem promo code, either from iTunes or the App Store, directly on your iPhone.

iOS 5 Concept: Dynamic Icons

Graphic artist Jan-Michael Cart is on fire lately with his iOS 5 concept videos. After dreaming of better speech recognition, fast app switching, and Lion-style dashboard, Jan-Michael is now introducing us to a new concept: dynamic icons.

Basically, instead of displaying a push notification alert in your face, dynamic icons can transform into icons that become the notification. Doesn't make much sense? Then watch this video and read Cart explaining his vision of dynamic icons...

SplitMail, a New Jailbreak Tweak by Ryan Petrich

Jailbreak developer Ryan Petrich just pushed SplitMail to his repo, his third tweak part of his TweakWeek challenge. SplitMail is a new tweak for jailbroken iPad that allows to display the left column of your emails in portrait mode in the same way it does while in landscape mode.

As usual, there is no icon or options in the Settings app. All you have to do is download the app on your iPad and view your emails in portrait mode...

PagePusher Brings Page-Styled Transitions to Your iPhone

This is day #2 of Ryan Petrich's Tweak Week, a friendly challenge that is going to bring us one new tweak a day for 7 days straight. Yesterday Ryan gave us DietBar, and today is coming up with a new tweak called PagePusher.

PagePusher is a very simple tweak that brings page-styled transitions to your iPhone. It's not very easy to describe how this app works, so it's best to just have you watch the video below...
