In an unexpected move on Wednesday, Electra Team member CoolStar has published the source code for the Electra1131 jailbreak tool on GitHub.

The move to open-source Electra1131 came after a public spat broke out between CoolStar and ex-Electra Team member Pwn20wnd on Twitter.

As it would seem, CoolStar’s choice to open-source Electra1131 stemmed from qualms that the source code would have been leaked without his permission.

It isn’t every day that jailbreak developers voluntarily open-source their work. That said, this is an excellent opportunity for people to learn about the internal mechanisms that make this particular jailbreak possible.

Anyone that might be interested in checking out the Electra1131 source code for themselves can visit CoolStar’s GitHub page to do so.
