OfficeMax & Office Depot can replace your iPhone battery if Apple can’t

Since Apple has launched their reduced price battery replacement program, they’ve been slammed with customers. They’ve even run out of stock on certain batteries. OfficeMax and Office Depot may be a good option if you are still on the market for a replacement.

Apple has said they will longer be able to replace batteries on the iPhone 6 Plus for quite some time until batteries become available, and we’ve seen them run out of stock on other devices as well.

OfficeMax and Office Depot have now slashed their prices roughly in half to $27.99, down from $49.99.

The program is available for the iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and iPhone SE.

Of course, there are plenty of caveats here.

First, it of course needs to be available in your area, with your battery in stock. If that is the case, you can actually get it completed same-day, with a $25 discount if it isn’t finished by end of store hours.

Second, OfficeMax and Office Depot aren’t actually Apple Authorized Service Providers, which technically has the possibility of voiding your iPhone’s warranty.

It probably is still best to use Apple or an Authorized Apple Service Provider to swap your battery, but if you need it quickly, or your phone is outside of Apple’s parameters, this may still be a valid option.

The new lower price is in effect until February.
