Just ahead of CES, Samsung has announced a new Thunderbolt 3 monitor, perfect for the MacBook Pro. Unlike LG’s TB3 monitors, these feature a curved display.

These pretty gorgeous looking monitors are able to take full advantage of Thunderbolt 3 and provide 85W of power to your laptop, while pulling video simultaneously. The benefit of Thunderbolt is that you can do everything with one cable, power, data, video, etc.

Samsung says the CJ791 (catchy name, eh?) has a 4ms response time, a 21:9 ultra wide aspect ratio, a 3,440 x 1,440 resolution, all in a 34″ display.

Personally, I like curved monitors. While I hate curved TVs, curved monitors feel very natural and are quite a pleasure to use.

Since CES is still a few days away, they are holding back some information like the full specs, price, and release date. We will certainly find those out next week.

What do you guys think of Samsung’s new monitors? Do you like the curved display? Prefer LG’s? Let us know below!

  • I would like it more if that circle base was a QI Wireless charger too… if it’s nothing as it seems, I would preffer a smaller one

They should really start baking that into everything! I see the comment each time there is a round flat surface like that. Everyone must have a similar idea!

  • Martynet

I would expect higher resolution in 2018.
My three years old iMac has 5120 x 2880.

    • Galaxy Life

      It’s a first gen product.

  • Juniors234

1ms response time, and 144Hz then i might consider it.

    Yawn. Rolls back over. ZZZZZ.
