After being announced late last year, Apple is now officially waiving the developer program fees for eligible organizations including government entities and non-profits.

According to Apple, “nonprofit organizations, accredited educational institutions, and government entities based in the United States that will distribute only free apps on the App Store” are eligible to participate in the program.

Existing members who would like to have their fees waived, must file a request with Apple. If you think your organization may be eligible, you can learn more on Apple’s dev site.
