In this week’s edition of our Apps of the Week roundup, we have a new app for tracking your packages, a sharp-looking todo list and goal tracker, and a cool gift idea for family. And as always, we’ve selected two great new games for you to check out.
Arrive
Instantly track all of your online orders in one place with Arrive. In a single tap, the app automatically syncs with your online purchases to give you accurate up-to-the-minute updates on everything you order. Follow your package’s journey with a live interactive map and notifications every step of the way. Features include support for over 400 carriers–including UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL and others–and a number of retailers. I know there are already a few staple apps in this category, but I still think this one’s feature set and interface make it worth checking out. Arrive is available for free.
Feather
Feather is an entirely new type of productivity app that combines to-do lists, schedules, goals, and statistics into one seamless experience to effectively boost your productivity. Just follow along Feather Butler’s prompts and you’ll find yourself getting more done day by day. Features include to-do lists, schedules, goal tracking and stat-tracking so you can measure your productivity. The design is lightweight and clean, and easy to use. Again, I know this is a crowded category, but if you’re in the market for a to-do list or goal tracker, this app is worth checking out. Feather is available for free (with a single IAP).
Grandma’s Gift
The holidays are coming up, and the folks at Polished Play want you to give the gift of reading with Grandma’s Gift. This app allows you and your grandchild to become the main characters in an arctic story adventure. Just add your own photos and customize the text—grandma, grandpa, mom, auntie, etc. are all covered. And once you’re done playing with the app itself, you can order a beautiful printed keepsake book. The whole concept is pretty cool here, and again very timely as we wade into the month of December. Grandma’s Gift is available for free.
Game Dev Tycoon
Game Dev Tycoon is a casual business simulation game where your success depends on your creativity and willingness to experiment. The game does *not* contain any in-app purchases or ads. Slip into the role of a game developer: start your own company, design your own games and make your way to the top to become a Game Dev Tycoon. Features include an updated story line, new topics to enable even more varied games, a challenging ‘pirate mode,’ built-in screen recording and streaming report, and more. Game Dev Tycoon is available for $4.99.
Hoppenhelm
In Hoppenhelm, you must jump over pitfalls, razor-sharp spikes and crumbling blocks. Deflect flying fireballs, enemy attacks and axe swings. Bust open doors to secret rooms full of lava and gather shiny coins. Sir Hoppenhelm is lost down in the dungeon of his castle Dunkelburg and must jump, block and slash his way back to safety before the rising lava gets him. Collect coins to unlock allies with unique abilities or expand your armory with new neat weapons. Features include one-handed controls, randomly generated levels, unlockable content, and more. Hoppenhelm is available for free (with a single IAP).
