Apple yesterday unveiled several new gizmos, some of which are priced higher than their predecessors. We’re interested to hear your opinion about the latest iPhones, the new Apple Watch Series 3 models and Apple TV 4K. Specifically, what new device(s) are you planning on buying from Apple’s announcements yesterday, and why?

Cast your vote below, then meet us in comments.

When voting, please take into account only the products you’re actually planning on buying and disregard the stuff you want but won’t be getting due to high price, technology or other factors.

Apple has also refreshed its accessory lineup with new cases and docks, a bunch of new Apple Watch straps, a wireless charging case for AirPods, a new pair of urBeats earbuds and more.

Lastly, they’ve previewed some of the things which we’ll be seeing next year, most notably a new multi-device wireless charging pad, dubbed AirPower.

I definitely plan on buying the new Apple TV.

As a huge fan of the fourth-generation model, this new box with its A10X Fusion chip and 4K resolution should be a powerful entertainment device for my living room.

I’ll be definitely getting a cellular Apple Watch Series 3, too.

Of course, and a 256GB iPhone X, too, because my wireless contract has just ended and I’m eligible for an upgrade. I plan on signing a new two-year plan with my carrier—that should at least make the upfront cost of the top-of-the-line iPhone X somewhat more bearable.

So, what’s your buying strategy when it comes to Apple’s new gadgets?

  • basilis

    iPhone 8 plus it is!

  • AMB_07

    none

    • CuBoy531

None is not an option. Get lost bro.

      • Ds

but none is a option. it’s just not listed as one.

  • Walcy Carroll

    Apple Watch three for sure

  • Waiting for iPhone SE 2

    • 9to5Slavery

      Yes!

    • eigenlaut

      yes please

  • Marko

Non of them. I will stay on my 3 year old iPhone 6

    • Steve R.

I might do the same :/

    • I’m planning on staying with my iPhone 6 as well… If I see a good price on eBay though I might get an iPhone 6S just for the 3D Touch however.

      • Ed

Don’t waste your money, 3D touch is a useless gimmick.

      • Well that’s what I thought when it first came out too, but every release of iOS adds more 3D Touch options and more and more apps are implementing it too.

I’m still not 100% sure it’s worth the upgrade price yet, but it’s clear that Apple is moving this direction and it would probably be worth getting a compatible device at some point. Right now though I’m just keeping an eye out on the general prices.

    • Valinor

Same here! Though the LG V30 has caught my attention. Don’t know if I want to switch to android though. If the price is right, I will try it out. Can always go back to my iphone 6

    • Eddy

same. my iphone 6 plus still works well
and iPhone X kinda over price

  • Fanboy 

iPhone X, 256! Still debating the color. The white glass back still has a black front so I wonder if it will look good.

    • lekwame

were in the same boat. i love a white phone but with a black front is killing me. ill have to see it person first.

      • Fanboy 

Time heals all wounds. The white grew on me lol. Will most definitely be getting white. Doesn’t look too bad in the hands on videos!

  • askep3

Is there an option to use the 4K Apple TV with a 1080p tv

    • TechnoBuff

No one will have an answer to that question until the product is physically reviewed.
Besides what is the point in buying a 4K ATV when you have a 1080p TV??
Only a 4K TV will output a 4k content from a 4K source. you might as well buy the 4th Gen ATV

      • askep3

I’m assuming you don’t know that there’s a thing inside Apple TVs that’s very important! The CPU! A10x is why I care about it

      • TechnoBuff

        LOL!
I am sure you know better !
As the CPU won’t address your concern. You can’t get 4K content on a 1080p TV. It will only output to 1080p Period!

      • askep3

Who said I want 4K content? I’m only wondering if it can output 1080p which it probably can but I don’t know for sure.

The reason I want to get it is FOR the CPU.

Why is this so hard to understand lol

      • Vondrook4

The point is (possibly) if you don’t have a 4K TV yet but you’re in the market for an Apple TV. I could see that being the situation for many people who haven’t taken the plunge into 4K (due to lack of content in the past few years)

  • Nate Holland

    More than likely None.

Even though they dropped the S naming this year, the new models suffer the same problems the S line always does. There’s no groundbreaking new tech, all the new phones have a 12mp camera(s), the more or less the same that’s in my 7 Plus. Faster chips and AR features are cool, but they don’t make a phone more “useful” at being a communication device.
The iPhone X on the other hand is much closer to a real leap for the device. FaceID is an awesome feature, no home button is even better (Ironic that this came out just as Ubuntu Mobile was dying, they really pioneered a no-button interface). And a funky bar at the top of your screen to help split information is actually just as useful as it is aesthetically interesting.

But none of the new models are any more water “resistant” than the 7 series, which mixed with going back to using glass on the back of the phone makes for a less durable device that costs more money and does vastly the same thing.

    Just my $.02

P.S. I also really like the Matte finish on my 7 Plus, and don’t like the idea of giving that up.

  • Raz Zor

definitely iPhone X, fell for it like with my old iPhone 6 but first I need to see this little thing in action. couple YouTubers will definitely cover that for me and some handson would be nice becouse in my head only black 256GB version will satisfy my needs and that will not come cheap

  • The Zlatan

    How about none?

  • Nick Greenway

You forgot the new AirPods in the poll. I will be getting those as well.

    • Ed

      There’s “new” AirPods?

  • growl50

    X phone

  • M_Hawke

    No option for “None.”

  • makeittalk

Keeping my 7+ as its pretty enough and the 8 and X add little additional function. Maybe the GPS only watch. Maybe. Perhaps. For fitness tracking. Maybe. Overall, frankly this year nothing seemed outstanding enough to buy – for me anyway.

  • Jamessmooth

can we add an option for “yes”?

  • zustroy

    What a useless pool!

    Where is none?

    Here is, a big one!

  • n0ahcruz3

X definitely, the camera sealed the deal for me.

  • I’ll go for the iPhone X and keep my Series 1 Watch.

  • Mon Cooper

I’m planning on the new watch, and Apple tv

  • Tko

I have been sporting the iPhone 5S since it came out 4 years ago. Its still is good condition. The only thing I had to do was replace the battery this past year. However I have been wanting a larger screen and faster phone overall for a while now. The past few releases haven’t been enough to sway me. I am not too keen on the price of the iPhone X but I am assuming it will last me another 4 years if not longer. The specs and design are enough of a change to warrant my interest now. I won’t preorder it cause I want to see the vids on drop tests and durability and such but I am almost positive I will end up getting the iPhone X once the supply levels off.

    • iLost

Same here… 4 years to iPhone 5s and it is one heck of a phone but aged now … iPhone 8 isn’t worth an upgrade and iphone X is too costly… it costs $1250 in India for the 64gigs version… Hoping for the prices to go down after launch!

      • eigenlaut

i am in the same boat – iphone 5s, was holding out for an impressive new featured phone
the iphone 8 looks like it could be it, but not quite – the X is right out because it’s just the 8 with OLED, face id and 8 plus cam for 300 bucks more.
maibe i will wait 1 more year for the 8s when they fixed all the little issues that crop up in “full” releases or buy the 8 when it is cheaper.

  • Larry Rymal

More than likely NONE. I have the Apple Watch 2.0 and the 256GB iPhone 7 Plus. From what I have read, I just don’t see anything compelling enough to make me pull out the funds needed to go with the new releases.

  • Karen Fletcher

I dunno, two grand is a lot of money when ones trusted 5S is in supreme condition, shame to hiff it away!!!

    • Siri Tim Cook Holness

There is no 2 grand iPhone

      • Blip dude

In the states there may not be, but in other countries, after doing Conversations, it can upwards to $3000. Just ask Brazil.

      • Karen Fletcher

How right you are, so correct.

      • Karen Fletcher

In New Zealand currency it is $2000.

  • Blip dude

Maybe the iPhone 8 Plus. . . Maybe none. My only reason for updating at this point is because I don’t know how much longer my blood can go on boiling with dealing with these Bull**** issue on this replacement iPhone 6S Plus that Apple swears was brand new.

But I’m still even questioning if I should just buy a 128GB iPhone 6S Plus instead. Yeah, that how much I’m questioning if upgrading is worth it.

On the plus side, I’ve seen some Jailbroken iPhone 6S Plus on eBay going for $400+ or even a few at more than half the price of an 8 Plus, so maybe that’ll be worth a gamble.

    • Siri Tim Cook Holness

But the X the 8+ looks ugly

      • Blip dude

I don’t give a flying f*** about how it looks, I care about what it offers. The X looks just as s****y as the 7 and the 8 IMO. It’s a piece of material value. It’s a necessity, but a piece of material value nonetheless.

  • MMA Rules
  • besrate hogsa

    iPhone X ftw

  • I will be buying:
    – an iPhone 8 at launch
    – an iPhone X at launch

Once I get the X, I will hand down the 8 to my wife and resell her iPhone 7 to make it up for the big purchase.

    I will not be buying:
    – a Series 3 (just nothing there for me)
    – an Apple TV 4K, since I don’t have a 4K TV and don’t plan on buying one

  • paulblakeman

On a 6s Plus at the moment, was wanting a new iPhone but they are all over priced. The X is nice but way too expensive, would of gone for a 7 plus if the prices had dropped by £100 or so. And I would of got a cellular watch but its only on EE in the UK who have the worst tarrifs…£15 for 500mb??!

So sticking with my 6s Plus and series 2 watch. Maybe next time?

  • credulousgeek

iPhone X just let it roll n i will get it!

  • Marijan

    Where is “none” option? 😀

  • Siri Tim Cook Holness

    iPhone X

  • Mr_Coldharbour

My iPhone 6S Plus is in mint condition and performs extraordinarily well. No reason to upgrade. But if I did, I’d get the iPhone 8 Plus, not the least bit interested in iPhone X. TouchID was the perfect solution I still don’t see what problem FaceID is trying to solve.

  • Eric Anderson

As much as I want the iPhone X, I can’t justify the price. I know I could get it subsidized by trading in my iPhone, but I want to keep my 6, so that means I’d have to buy one outright. I am considering getting a 256gb iPhone 8 or getting the product red iPhone 7

  • Fede

    non of the above…

  • Diego Milano

For some reason I can’t see the poll on my iPhone.

  • Ed

Been an Apple fan for a while but this was a let down, the feature (since it’s really only one big feature) on the X is cool, FaceID, but it doesn’t warrant the price tag for me.

And I can’t get past the fugly notch. That cutout looks horrible, specially in landscape mode. And the rounded corners aren’t doing it any favors either.

I was sure I was gonna upgrade this year, but it looks like I definitely won’t. My 6 works just fine.
