If you’ve got someone annoying pestering you on Instagram, then you can always block them so you don’t have to deal with them anymore. Likewise, if you want to unblock someone, you have the power to do that too.

In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to block and/or unblock a profile via the Instagram mobile app.

What happens when you block someone?

When you block a user on Instagram, they will be unable to find your profile when they try to search for you. This prevents them from seeing your photos and videos and keeps them from contacting you by sending direct messages and it also keeps them from mentioning or tagging you.

After you block someone, they won’t get any notifications indicating to them that they’ve been blocked, so you don’t have to worry about hurting anyone’s feelings or causing any awkward tensions. Instead, it’ll look to them like your Instagram account simply dropped off of the face of the Earth.

Keep in mind that it’s only possible to block Instagram profiles via the Instagram app, so you can’t do this from the web app on your computer. You can also unblock anyone at any time, so if you need to block someone temporarily for any reason, you can certainly do so.

    I blocked 5 users
    Their accounts have expired
I can’t view their profiles and so I can’t unblock them.
    The horrible list remains.

Okay blocking and muting people on social media sites is not all as easy breezing as all that.. Remember, the help centers can only deal with the bare basics, not individual circumstances.
It’s not necessarily true that no one can know they’ve been blocked. If you have mutual friends, they can see you on their posts, try to reach you that way and keep getting a fail notice.
The mute feature on Twitter also is presented as undectable but when the muted tries to talk to you, you’re the one who won’t know it and they’ll think you’re being rude.
A lot of people who follow each other on social media know each other offline, too. Do you want to be rude to someone online who knows where you live?

After the recent update (which was just yesterday), I can’t search the blocked accounts. So, I don’t have the option to unblock anymore. I’m sure the accounts have not been deactivated. I’m guessing it’s one of the changes with the update. So how to we unblock now?

I want to unblock some people but I can’t access their accounts to unblock them.
