Since the release of yalu102 for iOS 10.0-10.2, users of the newest jailbreak have been unable to make new purchases on the Cydia store. This is completely normal behaviour; Saurik disables purchases on new firmware versions until both Cydia and the jailbreak reach a level of stability. The reason for this is to prevent complaints, refunds, and device problems brought about by the purchase and use of incompatible tweaks.

Today Cydia 1.1.28 exited beta, and that, in combination with the relative stability of the later yalu102 beta builds, seems to have satisfied Saurik as to the platform’s readiness to receive paid transactions.

The new Cydia version is available now, and should show up automatically on the standard repo, Cydia/Telesphoreo. However, installing the new build is not necessary to enable iOS 10 purchases. This is done server-side by Saurik and is not based on Cydia version number. Conversely, users who are on jailbreaks on firmwares lower than iOS 10 could of course already make purchases, but they too will receive the Cydia update.

The changes in Cydia 1.1.28 have already been outlined in my article on its beta phase, and include a major update to APT, the package management backend, support for iOS 10, and the conversion of Cydia to a 64-bit process. This will remove the 32-bit warning dialog box, as well as fixing a bug which rendered links within the program unclickable. Updates were also pushed today for the required packages Tape Archive and Debian Packager, Cydia’s closest friends.

Now that the purchasing system has been activated for iOS 10, users will no longer have to resort to workarounds such as tampering with system files, or purchasing tweaks on other devices, to get their hands on their favourite modifications. (Incidentally, the first of these two workarounds is a terrible idea anyway, and should never be attempted). Tweak developers are now free to make their creations available in exchange for cash, provided they have been updated to support iOS 10.

Please note, Saurik enabling the payment system on iOS 10 does not automatically mean all tweaks will instantly be available to buy; developers must also manually designate their paid tweaks as eligible for iOS 10 purchases. What Saurik has done is enable access to the infrastructure that will allow them to charge, once they are ready.

Is there a killer tweak you have been waiting to buy on your iOS 10 jailbreak? What are your experiences with the newest Cydia version? Let me know below.

  • Pink Hush

Is it stable to jailbreak iphone 7, 10.1.1 now?

    • I think yes

    • SohrabR

Not really. The recent yalu updates where for all devices except iPhone 7. You should wait a little longer before you ruin your build.

    • Vander Tramp

Theres no support for ip7 yet. beta 8 should give support for that phone.

    • Pink Hush

Okay. Thank you for replying guys

  • MMA Rules

    Is it still semi-tethered?

    • Firedomain

Semi-tethered has nothing to do with Cydia. This is not a jailbreak update. & I highly doubt we will see an untethered update to Yalu 102.

      • Guy Fernando Hudson

What happens if you reboot, does it brick? Also is that reboot as well as restart?

      • Firedomain

With the Yalu jailbreak rebooting/restarting will just start the phone in an Unjailbroken state, then you just run the Yalu app again to reactivate the jailbreak.

    • Yes. And it always will be.

      • felixtaf

Whats your take on Immortal tweak on cydia? Does it keeps our certificate from expiry for Yalu? So, we can avoid the weekly signin (for non developers)?

    • ravinigga

Just don’t reboot ur phone that’s it

  • iltas

I lost my jb in 10.2 but may be some help to downgrade unsigned 10.2 without mac plz

    • Joaquim Barbosa

How did you lose your jailbreak already? What device, and what iOS version are you now on?

      • iltas

I install Stashing for iOS 10.2 it make me boot loop device not booting up I have 6s+

      • Joaquim Barbosa

Stashing tweaks are a terrible idea, sorry. You can’t restore from 10.2.1 to 10.2 even with blobs, I’m afraid.

  • Karloz25

    appsync unified??????????????????

  • Tim

Guys please help me, I uninstalled all my tweaks while trying to update the Yalu jailbreak to beta 7. Now my cydia disappeared and no matter how many times I jailbreak again it’s not showing up. I think I may have uninstalled it together with the tweaks.

    • Firedomain

Have you tried searching for Cydia in spotlight? I recall in the past some jailbreak apps wouldn’t show up on the home screen until I respring once or twice. They usually showed up in spotlight though. Apart from that I don’t know what to try. Sorry.

      • Tim

        It’s not in spotlight either

  • Vander Tramp

Hey guys. Refreshing the sources gives me some big errors in yellow now. I am running cydia 1.1.28-b14. The package Cydia Installer shows the updated details but no longer comes under saruik’s package. Is this of concern/any fix?

    • Upload a screenshot of errors you are seeing? No errors here.

  • Toon
