Apple shares wallpapers created with Mac and iOS devices for Chinese New Year

In celebration of Chinese New Year, Apple has launched a new section on its website in select Asian countries with exclusive wallpapers. The images feature contemporary versions of traditional “Nianhua” folk art, and they were created by 5 young Chinese artists using Mac and iOS devices.

Discover and enjoy new interpretations of traditional Chinese New Year Nianhuafolk art. Using Apple products with various apps, five young Chinese artists reinvent classic motifs to deliver new year blessings with a contemporary twist.

With each wallpaper, Apple shares the artist’s name, a description of the image, and the devices and apps used to create it. The artists include Victo Ngai, Eszter Chen, Zhou Fan, Ye Hongxing, and Jiang Shan, and the apps range from desktop staples like Adobe Photoshop, to iPad hits like Procreate.

Chinese New Year 2017, the Year of the Rooster, officially begins on January 28. Apple has announced that it will be offering a special promotion that day where customers in select countries can get a free pair of Beats Solo3 Bluetooth headphones with the purchase of select iPhones and Mac products.
