Apple on Thursday released a list of the top five best-selling holiday movies of all time on iTunes Store in the United States. Elf, originally released in 2003 and starring Will Ferrell as Buddy the Elf, is the all-time best-selling holiday movie on iTunes Store.
In addition to the list of the top five holiday movies on iTunes Store, the Cupertino company yesterday launched limited-time movie bundles at discounted prices, a bunch of 99-cent rentals and films under $10.
Here’s the full list of the top five holiday movies on iTunes.
- #1: Elf (2003)—Stars Will Ferrell as Buddy the Elf, directed by Jon Favreau.
- #2: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (1989)—Stars Chevy Chase as Clark W. Griswold, directed by Jeremiah S. Chechik.
- #3: Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)—stars Jim Carrey as the Grinch, directed by Ron Howard.
- #4: Home Alone (1990)— Stars Macaulay Culkin, directed by Chris Columbus.
- #5: The Polar Express (2004)—Stars Tom Hanks in many roles, directed by Robert Zemeckis.
Other popular holiday films of this season on U.S. iTunes Store include Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, The Night Before, A Christmas Story, The Santa Clause, It’s a Wonderful Life, Love Actually and Mickey’s Christmas Carol.
