Apple on Tuesday updated its online store with the addition of refurbished Apple Watch models. This is the first time, at least that we can recall, that the company has offered remanufactured versions of its wearable at a discount.

At the time of writing, the new section included a mix of Series 1 and Series 2 Apple Watches in a variety of size and color combinations. The savings range from $40 off, for the cheaper models, to $80 for the higher-end models.

Here are some examples:

  • Apple Watch Series 1 – 38mm – Silver Aluminum with White Sport Band – $229 (normally $269)
  • Apple Watch Series 1 – 42mm – Space Gray Aluminum with Black Sport Band – $249 (normally $299)
  • Apple Watch Series 2 – 42mm – Black Stainless Steel with Black Sport Band – $509 (normally $599)

This inventory changes on a daily basis, so if you don’t see the particular model you want now, just check back later. It’s also worth noting that Apple’s refurbished products come with all original accessories and full 1-year warranties.

Lol, old and useless, and still way overpriced.

    • n0ahcruz3

It’s not useless lol i agree about overpriced tho

    • Diego Milano

Seriously, I’ve always said the same (except for the “useless” part) about refurbished devices coming from Apple. I mean, if you can afford $500, you can still afford paying $600. This is one of the things that does make me believe Apple thinks consumers are stupid, unless it’s a strategy to make everyone still go and pay the whole rack price instead.

      • Natalie

Errr… no lol $100 is a lot of money

      • Diego Milano

        Like $500 isn’t.

  • n0ahcruz3

Well that was fast.. lol apple watch is a failure, I already predicted its decline. Because its a bit expensive and battery life not so good. I was one of those people who are excited about the apple watch when it was still a rumor. Then unveiling came and battery was 18hrs only? lol thats bad

    • 5723alex .

“Then unveiling came and battery was 18hrs only?”

My Apple Watch original battery holds for 3 days.
I switched from 3 years with Pebble Watch classic with 7-10 days of battery to Apple Watch and never looked back.

      • n0ahcruz3

3 days? it’s either you’re lying or you dont use it that much and you don’t workout. I used to have jawbone, last 10 days but that number goes down with intensive running and degrading of the battery.

      • 5723alex .

        I don’t workout, don’t use Facebook, Instagram, Twitter…

      • n0ahcruz3

Well no wonder, working out will drain it much faster. I know because like i said i used jawbone before now a fitbit charge. If you use it just for message notifications then I wouldn’t doubt it will last more than 24hrs.

You can get 3 days with normal use. A smart watch isn’t the same as a fitness tracker which has a lot less hardware to power.

In addition to that, who wears a watch to bed, power it off overnight and back on when you leave the house.

I get 4 days with my Gear S3 Frontier.

    • jOn Garrett

Please explain to me how 18 hrs battery on a watch is bad?

First of all all, you don’t interact with it constantly like with your phone.

Second you don’t depend on it like your phone.

Third, when you’re sleeping for 8 hours or more, what’s the big deal about having it charge overnight while you’re sleeping?

  • Wow, for the extra 50, I think I’d rather a brand new one. Hardly a massive discount.

    • Diego Milano

Apple does the same for all their devices; it’s dumb (and offensive, to some extent).

      • jOn Garrett

But people buy them so why should they stop?

      • Diego Milano

There’s always someone buying stuff, they don’t have nothing to lose after all. Thanks for visiting my Disqus profile, by the way.

Oh man! Thanks for posting this!! I’m in for a 42mm Stainless Steel, the wife’s wedding gift turned Christmas gift!

  • techfreak23

Soo… when are we going to be able to trade in our first gen watches for some credit towards a new one…?

    • jOn Garrett

      lol, you can’t.

      • Docservlet

You can. Craigs List, Ebay etc etc. Unfortunately no one wants my crummy android wear junk.

Thanks a ton for the heads up Cody. I’ve been wanting to upgrade my SS AW zero. $100 off for the black SS model is a killer deal, esp for a product that’s only been out a few months. First refurb product I’ve bought from Apple but I hear great things.

  • Ash

Really?! just 90$ off for Series 2?? if u can afford 500 then 99$ is not a problem..

  • Phil Gamboa

    Target has Series 1 brand new for $199 + 10% off. $180 for a brand new 38mm

Thought I’d share an update: I received my refurb apple watch last week, and it was scratched to hell on the bottom ceramic. Received my replacement today and it was again scratched to hell on the bottom ceramic. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the exact same watch they shipped to me the first time. So unhappy.
