My experience of VPNs on iOS leads me to believe that the VPN support of iOS isn’t very robust. Both the native iOS VPN and OpenVPN drop connections far, far, more often than on any other OS I’ve used. In contrast my Windows Phone has never dropped a VPN connection. Perhaps someone has some tips for improving things on iOS? Right now the most reliable method I have found is “seemless bridge” on OpenVPN, but it’s still pretty rubbish.

Yup, experiencing the same. iOS seems to miss kind of keep-alive mechanism for VPN connection.

I have used hotspot shield elite….it sucks like hell. I have also used major brand VPN and you know what they suck like hell. If you want to use paid vpn use purevpn it is better than other vpn. whether you are using on ios andriod or pc purevpn is the best

bought HSS lifetime subscription as it was advertised a lot of times on iDB, thinking it might be very useful for me. However, I couldn’t had HSS to work on 2 University’s public wifi and some cafes wifi too! Am really disappointed, will be requesting for a full refund too
