Amazon Search History Hide and Remove

If you’re an avid Amazon user like me, then you probably check the site for deals before you buy from other online sources and before driving to your local stores.

Amazon keeps a history of everything you look at on the website, so in this tutorial, we’ll show you how you can hide or remove items from your browsing history.

Why to hide or remove history items

If you use Amazon for holiday gifts, then having a constant window into everything you’ve looked at recently may prove to be a spoiler to anyone who uses the same computers or devices as you. Others might just not want to have a trail of what they’re looking into purchasing.

At the end of the day, everyone has their own privacy reasons for covering their tracks and they will vary from one person to the next, so without further ado, we’ll get right into showing you how to go about it.

Removing individual history items

Starting small, perhaps you just want to remove one specific item from your Amazon browsing history, and not everything. To do that, follow these simple steps:

1) Visit the Amazon browsing history web page using your favorite web browser.

2) When the page loads, scroll through your history results and find something you want to hide from your history.

3) Click on the Remove button underneath the item.

The item is now removed from your browsing history.

Removing all history items

If instead of removing only one item from your browsing history, you want to remove everything, then you’ll need to follow these steps instead:

1) Visit the Amazon browsing history web page using your favorite web browser.

2) Click on the Manage History drop-down arrow.

3) Click on the Remove All Items button that appears just above your browsing history.

4) When prompted if you’re sure you want to remove all your browsing history, click on the yellow Remove All Items button:

Now all of your browsing history will be deleted from Amazon, so you won’t have to delete everything individually.

Turning off Amazon browsing history

If you want to hide all your browsing history on Amazon, you can turn it off so Amazon doesn’t keep track of it anymore. To do that, follow these steps:

1) Visit the Amazon browsing history web page using your favorite web browser.

2) Click on the Manage History drop-down arrow.

3) Switch the Turn Browsing History On/Off toggle switch to the Off position.

Now Amazon will no longer show you your recent browsing history on this device.
