hello again event macbook pro prices

Apple just announced pricing and availability information for its shiny new MacBook Pro. Apparently it will come in 3 models, starting at $1,499, and you can order them all today. Shipping times are different, however, depending on which model you’re after.

The entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro is essentially a MacBook Air replacement. It shares the slimmer design and various internals with the new MacBook Pro, but it comes with physical Function keys instead of the Touch Bar, and doesn’t have Touch ID.

The top model MacBook Pro, which features a 15-inch display (and obviously includes Touch Bar andTouch ID) and a standalone Radeon Pro 450 graphics card, starts at $2,399 and also ships in 2-3 weeks. You can custom-configure this machine up into the $4K range.

So, will you be getting the new MacBook Pro? If so, which model?

  • Crazy money for these, such an easy pass. They could have easily made the entry 899.99 and gone up from there since they killed the Air model. So essentially they just did what the iPad Pro line up did.. add one new item.. call it Pro.. and shut down the smaller models that are non-pro.

    • :|Alain|:

Wait what?? I don’t remember them mentioning killing the Air Model!!

      • JohannASSburg

the 11 inch is dead, mild price drop on two 13 inch models of the Air. Still, if the goal of the baseline 13 inch Pro was to replace the 13 inch Air, they didn’t really do that one in price and two seeing as they are both in different classes of computers

    • Sailor_V90

They still have the MacBook Air on their page listed starting at $999

      • For now.. he said it’s going to stick around for a while.. but usually that means 1 generation and a minor hardware change. Essentially its not worth purchasing.
