Ok so I’ve followed idownloadblog for years and visit this sight multiple times per day. Sadly I have to say I will no longer be doing that. I understand you need adds on your sight to make money. However when the sight starts redirecting me and telling me my iPhone has been selected to win a $1000 gift card and all I have to do is provide my information….. that’s crossing the line. It’s very sad that this page has come to that, and even more disturbing to have watched it continuously go down hill for the last few years. I’m sad to say this but I’m done and will no longer be visiting this site.

Do yourself a favor, install a content blocker from the App Store (then activate it) and rid yourself of shit ads like that while also speeding up your browsing.

        Any suggestions on which one?

    • Hi. I’m sorry you are experiencing issues with the site. What I can tell you is that what you are experiencing is not something we do on purpose. It is either the result of one rogue ad on the site, or the result of one bad cookie you might have picked up on another site and forcing your browser to redirect to those shitty pages you are mentioning.

Because you are the only person experiencing these redirects, I’d tend to believe this problem comes from your iPhone. Simple troubleshooting can help us isolate this issue.

      1. Is your iPhone jailbroken? If so, have you installed any pirated tweaks or have you installed additional repos in Cydia? If yes, then that is likely your problem.

      2. Have you tried loading the site in a different browser? Are you still experiencing the redirects? If not, then it shows there is something wrong with your browser.

      3. Have you cleared cache and website data of your browser? If not, do it and try again.

Please go through these simple steps and let me know the results.

Obviously, as the owner of this site, I do want to make sure it is working properly. And once again, believe me when I say that these redirects are not intentional and that I do want to find the source of the issue.

      Keep me posted.

I saw the same thing Sebastian. Maybe you should look into it.

      • Can you please give me some details about the device you used, os version, browser version, city you’re in, page on which that happened, link to the page you were redirected to (if possible)? Thanks a lot

  • Thank you.

    Can you please tell me:
    – when that happened to you (day and approx time)?
    – if it’s still happening?

Tracking down these rogue ads isn’t easy. Typically, the ad networks catch them relatively quickly and I am hoping this is what happened in this case.

Still, I’d like to gather as much details as possible to try to replicate it, and find the culprit.

Thank you for your help, and know that I’m terribly sorry about this. Again, this is not intentional.

    • Jerry

It happens a few minutes before I posted about the problem. I don’t it anymore tho.

      • If you do see it again, please email me at seb@iDownloadBlog.com and let me know about it. A screenshot and the URL of the page you were redirected to would help as well. Thank you very much.
