Ref Headphone Jack possibly disappearing on the next iPhone:- What I don’t get is Sony have been making their Z series of phones watertight for a good few years and ‘still’ include the standard headphone jack. So why oh why can’t apple do something similar???
    Totally confused

    • Waterproofing is one of the possible reason Apple would want to remove the headphone jack, but it is definitely not the main reason. Like you said, several phones are waterproofed and still have the headphone jack.

Thanks Seb, you’re right. Apple may have other reasons to remove the socket. I was blinded by the ‘waterproofing concept’.
