GTA fans rejoice! Rockstar Games has ported another title from its popular franchise over to iOS. Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories is now available in the App Store for iPhone and iPad, for $6.99.

Liberty City Stories follows former-wise-guy-turned-hit-man Toni Cipriani as he returns home to Liberty City. During his absence, the city became overrun with political corruption, drug trafficking and union strikes, and it’s up to Toni and the Leone family to get things back under control.

The game features the same open-world adventure gameplay that you’re used to, but with shorter, more streamlined missions. Remember LCS originally launched on the PlayStation Portable, so it was essentially built with mobile in mind.

Some other notable features include:

  • New high resolution textures and character art
  • Real time lighting and shadows
  • 60 FPS gameplay on iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus & iPad Pro
  • Enhanced draw distance
  • Rebalanced controls for touch-based gaming
  • Cross-platform cloud saves via the Rockstar Social Club
  • 3D Touch support for multiple control options
  • Custom soundtrack support*
  • Physical controller support
  • Native retina screen support including the iPad Pro

And here is your official promo trailer:

If you’re interested, you can find Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories in the App Store for $6.99. If you want to grab whole GTA collection, Apple offers a bundle with GTA III, Vice City and San Andreas for just $11.99.

  • Just like that, my productivity is gone.

    WE ALL WANT GTA IV

    • Give it ten years when everybody has forgotten about it and it’ll be ported.

      • At the rate out tech is going I’d say at least 5.. BTW ten years is not long enough to forget about IV lol.

  • They need to add the shit to Apple TV. What’s the point of upgrading it if there’s no decent games on it?

Ridiculous they brought it to iOS only and not tvOS.

And here I was getting ready to spend 7X the amount of the asking price for this game so that I can play other games on my iPad Air 2. Looks like this will pretty much be the only game I’ll be getting to spend Winter Break playing.

60FPS on iPhone 6S but not on iPad Air 2?!?

    • Blip dude

Yup, I’m wondering about that as well. But not a big deal to me personally.

    • I’m getting 60FPS in some scenarios on iPhone 6. I think they mean that the iPhone 6S and iPad Pro can get consistent 60FPS while older devices only manage 60FPS occasionally.

Grand Theft Auto 3 is basically the same thing.

      Except for these:
      • New high resolution textures and character art
      • Real time lighting and shadows
      • 60 FPS gameplay on iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus & iPad Pro
      • Enhanced draw distance
      • Rebalanced controls for touch-based gaming
      • Cross-platform cloud saves via the Rockstar Social Club
      • 3D Touch support for multiple control options
      • Custom soundtrack support*
      • Physical controller support
      • Native retina screen support including the iPad Pro

      • GoldenPearMCPE

Well, yeah. It’s just not big enough of a change for me to purchase it over 3. I already have 3 and there’s nothing wrong with it for my use. Also, I’ve completed 3 and Liberty City Stories on PSP. 😛

I want to play it so bad!!! But I still have an iPhone 4 🙁

  • GoldenPearMCPE

iPhone 5 is still a great phone!
