Accessory maker Mophie today announced a refreshed edition of its Powerstation external battery packs for charging mobile devices.

The 3rd generation, aluminum-clad Powerstation is Mophie’s thinnest and lightest yet.

The smallest measures just 6.9mm thick and the largest is only 12.1mm deep. Prices range from $39.95 for the baseline model and go all the way up to $149.95 for the flagship Powerstation 8X that packs in a 15,000 mAh battery.

Thin and light

Achieving its compact size required using high-density battery cells to allow a form factor thinner than any power product Mophie has ever produced.

The gadgets offer a high-speed, 15W charging input and automatically identify your smartphone, tablet or other USB device’s power needs to deliver the most optimal charge possible.

Last but not least, Mophie’s Power app makes it easy to monitor and manage the battery life of your phone and Powerstation battery, allowing you to elect to receive push notifications when power is low or when charging is complete.

1X, 2X, 3X, 5X and 8X

The new Powerstations are available in five models: 1X, 2X, 3X, 5X and 8X:

  • 1X—2,000 mAh battery
  • 2X—4,000 mAh battery
  • 3X—6,000 mAh battery
  • 5X—10,000 mAh battery
  • 8X—15,000 mAh battery

The 3X, 5X and 8X models have two USB ports for charging two devices, say your iPhone and iPad, at the same time. The 2X, 3X, 5X and 8X models (but not the 1X one) include pass-through charging support that prioritizes charging an iOS device before charging the Powerstation itself.

these are insanely overpriced. Why would anyone consider buying one of these when OnePlus sells a good quality 10000mah battery pack for $15

    • Fanboy 

Because they look pretty, lol. Agreed though, you can find a great 20,000mah for like $25 on eBay.

this is made for apple fans because most of them pay for any thing even if it’s over priced

Wake me up when mophie will prioritize charging my phone first, then itself.
