Pangu 1.2.0

Pangu has released a new version of its iOS 9 jailbreak tool for Windows, along with an update to its untether package for those of you who are already jailbroken.

The new Pangu update, which comes in at version 1.2.0, features the latest Cydia Installer, version 1.1.26, bundled with the jailbreak, along with a fix for the Manage Storage bug that some were experiencing.

You can find the download for Pangu 1.2.0 inside, but keep in mind that this tool is still Windows-only for the time being.

Download Pangu 1.2.0 from our downloads page now, and use our iOS 9 jailbreak guide to jailbreak your iPhone.

If you’re already jailbroken, open Cydia and refresh in order to view the latest Pangu untether package. Use this package to update to the latest version of Pangu without needing to re-jailbreak using the Windows tool.

Pangu 1.2 Untether

Here is the full changelog for Pangu 1.2.0:

  • Bundle latest Cydia with new Patcyh which fixed failure to open url scheme in MobileSafari
  • Fixed the bug that “preferences -> Storage&iCloud Usage -> Manage Storage” keeps spinning

As you can see, this update also updates to the latest version of Patcyh. This, too, can be updated via Cydia.

If you’re running a Mac, remember that you can use a virtual machine in order to jailbreak iOS 9 on Mac using the Pangu tool.

  • Роман Звягин

    Still waiting for 9.1 JB.

    • Shingo

2nd that but seeing it still has lag on spotlight i will wait next 9.2

      • Bugs Bunnay

Might as well wait for ios 10

      • baddestsammaritan

Whats the go with spotlight? i get a respring whenever i scroll over to spotlight. Anyone else?

      • Jayy

        Spotlight works fine with me!

      • Chris Gibb

Install Crash Reporter from Cydia this will tell you what tweak is corrupting spotlight etc:)

    • Ángel Javier Esquivel

      Keep on waiting

    • mrgerbik

I waited too, but the low power mode was too enticing; so I wouldnt throw away the idea of updating to 9.02 as it seems pretty smooth on my 6
90% of the tweaks I use now work (except infinidock and applocker).

      • Jacob Bridgers

the tweak infinidock works for iOS 9 i have it

      • baddestsammaritan

        Wow! Infinidock works! Thanks!

    • R N

I thought doing the same and stick to 9.1 and wait for the JB, however I decided to downgrade back to 9.0.2 and JB and just wait until 9.1 gets a JB.

Good luck with the waiting time.

  • SMH

FXCKXN nonsense to make a jailbreak tool for iPhone that doesn’t support Mac. and don’t tell me to use a virtual machine. Haven’t got time for that ridiculous shxt having to download a whole OS and set that shxt up for some one time use crap.

    • That’s been the trend for the last several jailbreaks. Just set up a VM one time, and you’d always have it ready to go. It takes less than 20 minutes.

      • Mr.Coolfreak

would you recommend waiting for JB to get stable or jailbreaking right now?

      • David Ruiz

is pretty stable… just need to avoid restart with hold + home. If you’re on 8.X keep on 8.X, buf if you’re in 9.X you should try it

      • Matt Funk

Do it before the signing window for ios 9.0.2 closes! there’s already a post on iDB

      • Mr.Coolfreak

        I’m on 9.0.2, but haven’t jailbroken yet

      • Alberto Espinal

But there is a catch! I don’t know if they fixed that you have to restore and set as new then jailbreak then restore from backup, if not you are running out of time!!

      • Shadowelite123

You don’t need to set up as a new iPhone for the Jailbreak to work. I jail broke my iPhone 6S Plus with like almost 20GB of stuff on it and it worked just fine without any hiccups.

      • Don Walker II

I updated from 8.x jailbroken to 9.0.2 then re-jailbroke, now Cydia shows the Untether for the previous tool used, TaiG, as a package that needs upgrading (You can’t update it for obvious reasons, but it just sits there). Some data from the previous jailbreak remains. So just beware, if you are updating from a previous jailbreak, it’s probably safer to setup as new before jailbreaking with a new tool to avoid having refuse from the previous jailbreak left behind. Syncing is fine, but restoring seems to reload data from previous jailbreaks. (I also restored from backup both before and after jailbreaking just to test my hypothesis)

      • Alberto Espinal

It works for some people, it didn’t work for me and many other people

      • Bugs Bunnay

        Do it.

      • Jacob Bridgers

I don’t really care as long as your jail broken you will be able to install the upgrades for cydia and the jailbreak tool through cydia without a computer u can upgrade them

    • Neel Parikh

      No gain without pain.

I waited 10 hours for windows 8 download. Than VMware and tools, iTunes. JB tool also. And ipsw file. Sleepless night. So happy.

      Happy Jailbreking!!

      • Don Walker II

It took you 10 hours to download Windows 8?!

      • Neel Parikh

Yes. Here download speed is 80-150 Kbps only.

      • Don Walker II

        That sounds worse than death.

    • mrgerbik

      lazy

    • David Ruiz

is a free tool man, take it easy, eventually it will come to Mac

      • Bugs Bunnay

        In 10 years

    • iPhoneWINS

yeah it sucks but that how the programmers like it and no one wants to make a mac translation

    • Whahhhhh!!!

    • Bugs Bunnay

      Smh… Smh.

    • Diego

      So…don’t do it. =)

  • Neel Parikh

Updated to 1.2. iPhone rebooted. Lock screen appears. First pop up. Storage almost full. iPhone 5s

    • Ángel Javier Esquivel

      D:

      Edit: Not here (5s, 64GB)

  • lol expected updated for jb 9.1

  • Markieze Mitchell

I actually did this update through my ipad mini 2 and I got stuck on the all white screen with the apple logo after the reboot…. I was forced to restore my ipad.

    • God Bless Israel

      same here with iphone 6s

      • Markieze Mitchell

Damn… Now I’m afraid to attempt it on my iphone 6

      • R0tten

I advise against it right now.

    • Alberto Espinal

You should’ve perform safe mode, I believe it’s the right word, holding power-home-volume up

      • God Bless Israel

tried that it didnt work, had to restore

      • Bugs Bunnay

Well at least you didn’t get your thing stuck in a blender.

      • Altron

Same thing with me on two different ipad mini 4’s – I used the mac tool just tonight and the pc tool about a week ago. Both ended up in unrestorable bootloops where holding the up button didn’t work.

      • Markieze Mitchell

        I tried that and it didn’t work…

    • Micaiah Martin

      Same here. iPhone 5S

    • R0tten

@AppleDevFan:disqus @markiezemitchell:disqus This happened to me on my spare iPhone 5c. I also did this update at the same time using my iPhone 6. Both had problems with what you describe. Stuck at white apple logo… After a few “hard resets” to both, my iPhone 6 finally came alive, was a sluggish at first with my swipes/apps, but within 10 seconds leveled off and it’s working fine (even after a few reboots).

My iPhone 5c, however, is not so lucky. I was able to get it online by using the volume up trick (yes @albertoespinal:disqus [I] did) , but, no cydia *tweaks* would work obviously. I uninstalled all tweaks and see the same problem after a reboot. I even tried downgrading the pangu9 jailbreak app, to no avail. The last try was to “re-jailbreak” using the latest pangu windows tool/app, which did not work.

I can honestly say be careful with this specific pangu 9 update guys, and cautious with future ones. For me, I am fortunate 9.0.2 is still being signed so I can restore my 5c (in progress). I will be thinking twice, if I’m working fine, before updating the pangu cydia app!

  • Mohammed Thowseef

I updated to latest jailbreak version and the screen comes as not supported any one got this problem

    •  Omar Santiago 

MY iPhone die haha so I restored! lol

      • Bugs Bunnay

        That is really funny.

  • Anthony Aguilar

What version of itunes should i have running or i dont need itunes downloaded to be able to jailbreak?

    • Alberto Espinal

      Latest

      • Anthony Aguilar

        Thanks

  • AppleDevFan

Be careful while installing this pangu update, Iphone 6s plus got stuck on boot and had to restore.

    • Armen

Yup, same with my iPhone 6S. Did you try again after a restore?

      • Rob

Fine here with 6s…may be a bad tweak installed. Didn’t like the update

      • R0tten

        It’s not.

      • iPhoneWINS

        what a mess

      • NeftyCorrea

yup broke my jailbreak had to restore i tired doing holding down volume up while rebooting but staied stuck on apple logo kept rebooting so i restore now ive been trying to rejailbreak with parallel but windows keep saying that it can open the pangu app and im dying to jailbreak again . Hustle when you only gots macs in your house

      • R0tten

Lucky for you, the next restart worked like mine. I will say, it seems to be this lucky for anyone with an Arm64 device. (I have 5c and 6)

      • Antonio Lamb

Same problem. Iphone 6S. I am only able to boot when I hold the volume up button.

    • iPhoneWINS

Wait so it breaks the jailbreak? did they test it?

      • AppleDevFan

pretty much had to restore and re jailbreak, seems to be ok currently reinstalling tweaks

      • Chris

BLoD issues have being occurring since the first release, there’s a mega thread on the jailbreak subreddit about the issue.

    •  Omar Santiago 

      Me too

    • Zed

I successfully updated without no problems but few days ago i had installed iblacklist and call recorder and my phone was getting stuck in bootloop but I uninstalled them and was good to go but overall i must say pangu ios 9 Jailbreak has been one of the unstable jb in recent memory tAig need to bring 9.1 out.

      • SIMON

Totally agree, Pangu JB is shitty as always. I miss a TaiG tool for 9.1.

      • Zed

Hopefully we get a 9.1 jb from tAig : )

  • Kelvin Lieu

    whats wrong with it

    • Feivl

It opens the Appswitcher randomly, or puts the phone in sleepmode. I checked the settings, reinstalled, but still…

  • David Ruiz

My reason to jailbreak. Try iCleaner to disable other tweaks that may cause problems with VirtualHome. If the problem is VH, use iCleaner to well… clean the remaining files of VH, respring and then install VH again, that should work, good luck!

    • Feivl

Don’t think that will do, as I deleted all 3 tweaks I installed after VH and reinstalled VH. Thanks anyway.

  • ProSzakal Aszakal

IPhone 6 Plus updated via cydia without any problem but before update I run my phone to save mode and then run cydia and update, after restart…

  • Jacob Bridgers

pangu sucks it messes up the command line and causes a Killed: 9 output error

    • Chris

That’s not Pangu causing that, if you’re trying to use a mobile terminal, it won’t work as PAM needs to be updated for 64bit devices.

      • Jacob Bridgers

Oh because I looked it up everywhere it said it was pangu but I’m not on a 64bit device mines a 32bit device

  • Harold J. Rodríguez.

There’s no Pangu 1.2 (1.1.0) link on your downloads page. 🙁

    • David Ruiz

is not even in their web site, but the update is on Cydia. It will appear during the day for sure, be patient

  • Alberto Espinal

    Reinstall

    • Feivl

      Tried that. Tanks.

  • Zaw Win Htun

Worst jailbreak ever, cant even jailbreak even with this 1.2.0 version it keeps telling me to download updates its been happening to me since the jailbreak 1.1.0 came out

  • Ana Paula

Can someone mirror the link, please? Maybe mirror isn’t the best word; Upload to some storage site (Mega, dropbox….), please; China is far far away
Virtual Machine and Windows 10 downloaded in 10 hours to download.

    • Chris

While I agree with you, saurik doesn’t want random links floating around.

  • Jesse Smith

So iDB info needs to be updated. “Download Pangu 1.2.0 from our downloads page now” < There is no 1.2.0. Also the ispw's needs to be updated. There isn't any 9.0.2 uploaded. Not sure why its taking so long to download the Pangu file from there site. I'm waiting on 2hrs. WTF!

    • Jesse Smith

Thank you for the fix. But we need a mirror cause the download is taking way to long for just 71.3mb.

      • Bugs Bunnay

Whoa there buddy. You’re asking for way too much. Hold your horses.

      • Jesse Smith

41min and 8sec to go! WOW

      • Bugs Bunnay

Record smashing. I have never seen anything like it!

  • Markieze Mitchell

Now I am very confused because first my iPad mini 2 was stuck on the logo screen after the reboot from the pangu update in cydia. I was successful in restoring and jailbreaking again my device but then after I did all the basic cydia rundown before even adding a tweak, I rebooted my device and again I was stuck on the apple logo screen. So for a second time I am restoring my device.

    • Jesse Smith

What happens if you try a older version of the jailbreak?

      • Markieze Mitchell

I have not tried that yet.. but then again don’t want to because I don’t know if it is the the pangu update that is causing the problem which I would still have to go through I believe while updating everything through cydia. I don’t want to have to restore for a 3rd time again.

      • Joseph Silva

i went through the same issue as you, i deleted all my tweaks and it booted up as normal, which doesn’t make sense cause my phone was working fine with my tweaks before i even tried to update to pang 1.2, hope this helps

      • Markieze Mitchell

I didn’t have any tweaks installed though.. That’s why I’m confused.

      • Joseph Silva

yeah lol thats a weird one, i was able to get my phone back in running by downgrading to 1.1 and deleting all my tweaks then upgrading to 1.2 and adding them all back, but idkkk

      • Rick Hart

Flipswitch has giving me a boot loop

  • Markieze Mitchell

    wow! what a mess

  • Ron

I just updated my iPhone 6s to Pangu 9.02 with no problems.

    • Markieze Mitchell

I need some of your luck.

  • Zencowboy007

Went smoothly for me on ios 9.0.2 and iPhone6s+
I have least 15 tweaks installed.

  • Dirty Harry

I was having an issue where if a certain tweak didn’t work well with another tweak (all ios9 compatible) on my iPhone 6s+, it’d lock cydia up to where I couldn’t use/open it. I had to restore and then rejailbreak. Has 1.2.0 fixed this issue?

  • Feivl

Found it, guys! Was one of the tiny programs Cydia installed itself, or it came with one of the other tweaks! Thank you!!

    • Feivl

No, not quite. But NOW I know. Its the combination of VirtualHome and Biolockdown. Tried several times, un- and reinstalled Biolockdown and that was the problem.

  • Josh H

it works great on my iphone, i just need a place to download the new version that doesn’t take 5 hours. will someone post it to mega or something?

  • Austin

I can’t download apps. It is stuck at waiting

  • Christopher Sanchez

When I try to download the new Pangu update tool through windows since I am unjailbroken, it says “Pangu 1.2.0 is not a valid win 32 application”

  • Gibran Page

My iPad mini 2 is already jailbroken on 9.0.2. I saw the update available in Cydia and installed it. My iPad is now stuck on the apple screen. It’s been 5 hours. Can anyone help me.

    • Chris

Restore, then re-jailbreak. It’s the only way, I think.

    • Altron

I had the same issue on two different ipad mini 4’s – I replaced one and had to manually reinstall the 9.0.2 firmware this time. This happened after the icons were unresponsive and I had only installed a couple tweaks f.lux and swipeshift and whatever the updates were by default (there were only 2)

  • Jayy

So should I go into Cydia and update Pangu?

    • Chris

Yes, I didn’t have any issues upgrading, but a very small number of users are complaining about boot loops.

      • Jayy

Okay thank you, I hope I don’t get any bootloops!

      • becoolyolanda

ProSzakal mentioned he rebooted to safe mode then installed. Might be a sound precaution…

      • Chris

It’s not safe mode, he’s talking about booting without substrate which is different.

  • Andy

iPad Air 2. Boot loop. Tears. iTunes Restore. Downgrade. Re-jailbreak. Just what I needed.

  • Mark Swain

Jailbroken successfully, Cydia set up, but now Cydia won’t open. Any ideas what’s wrong?

  • Jacob Bridgers

Everyone if your having problems with cydia u can use this tool called CydiaImpactor it will restore you idevice to factory without needing the use of a computer also you don’t have to update your firmware this was

  • ink

Done, just turned my iPhone 5 into “safe mode”, deleted all tweaks installed. Updated the Pangu v1.2 & Cydia Installer v1.1.26, through Cydia. Checked on the “Storage Bug” (fixed). Now, goin to install all my tweaks again. 🙂

Well, I did it my way.. Lalala.. 😀

  • NeftyCorrea

THEY GOT THE MAC version TOOL ! OUT NOW ON THERE WEBSITE

    • SIMON

I can’t hear you. What do you said? Can you repeat please?

    • Altron

I just used the mac tool and got my ipad mini 4 in a bootloop.

      • NeftyCorrea

        really ?

      • Altron

Yes, though I re-read the instructions and it’s basically my fault because I thought that I was being clever by not doing the manual firmware update and then backup and restore just prior to jailbreak – both times. So definitely do that.

It works fine now, though it’s only been just over 12 hours.

  • tiltdown

How about the popup message when you reboot your phone? “Storage almost full”? Is it normal or do I need to do something with it?

  • SIMON

Pangu, please go back to school and leave jailbreak professionals…
