TaiG Mac

TaiG has released a new version of its Mac jailbreak tool for iOS 8.4. Version 1.1.0 of TaiG for Mac aims to fix an issue present for users of OS X 10.9. If you’ve experienced issues with jailbreaking your iPhone using the OS X version of TaiG, then it is recommended that you update to this latest version.

Here is the change log for TaiG 1.1.0:

  • TaiG for Mac V1.1.0 fixes the blank screen on OS X 10.9.

That’s it—it simply fixes the blank screen issue with the 10.9 version of OS X. If you’re already jailbroken using TaiG, then there is no need to use this tool to re-jailbreak.

If you’ve yet to jailbreak, you can use our full Mac jailbreak tutorial to learn how to jailbreak your iPhone with your Mac, and it includes a video tutorial as well:

TaiG 1.1.0 for Mac can be downloaded from our downloads page.

Have you experienced the blank screen issue while running the tool on OS X 10.9? If so, please sound off in the comments below with your thoughts.

*Asking for a friend* Do we need to restore first? Because what actually happens if we update to 8.4 while jailboken? Is the restore necessary? Remember I’m asking for a friend.

    • Afaik if your friend updated OTA (over the air) rather than using iTunes then yes you need to restore. Backup first, then restore and then jailbreak.

iPhone 5 iOS 8.4 – Mac OSX 10.10.4 – TaiG 1.1.0 for Mac… the jailbreak was completed successfully, but when I try to open Cydia the screen goes black and it says Preparing Filesystem. As soon as that message appears, it reboots the phone… everytime. I haven’t been able to use it. Tried jailbreaking it again and the same happened.

Keeps giving me an error stating the jailbreak failed. Got error message (-1001). I didn’t touch the phone while it was going through the process and had passcode disabled and find my iPhone off as well as airplane mode on (as stated in the video). Not sure what else to do here.

    • I did too, same error. Then I tried a different cord. I had been using a certified-but-not-actually-Apple-issued cord and switching to the Apple cord had it go through..

  • JB’d my iPad mini with no prob, today I did the iPhone 6. It must be picky about the cords, because it failed a couple times and then I switched cords to the Apple-issued one and it went through fine. However, my carrier (AT&T) is stuck at “Searching” (and was after one of the failed JB attempts on the other cord..) The JB is fine, but the actual phone-part of the phone isn’t functional. Google search isn’t helping. Any hints?

    • Anyway, I restored it, of course, and the carrier’s back to normal..
