TaiG

TaiG is pushing ahead with new releases of its TaiG jailbreak tool on an almost daily basis it seems. This latest version of TaiG is a beta release, version 2.4.2.

The latest beta version of the TaiG jailbreak tool is Windows-only, which isn’t exactly a surprise given TaiG’s release history. It also serves, more importantly, to fix jailbreak errors related to 30% and 40% hang-ups during the jailbreak process.

Here is the full change log for TaiG 2.4.2:

  • Integrate the latest Cydia 1.1.23.
  • Fix issues of getting stuck at 30% and 40%.

You can download TaiG 2.4.2 from our downloads page.

After some testing, TaiG 2.4.2 should be promoted to a public version. Until then, TaiG is recommending that most users stick to the public 2.4.1 version.

From what I can recollect, this release should put a cap on most of the hang-up errors related to the TaiG jailbreak, as the last release, version 2.4.1, fixed the notorious 60% errors. Have you had issues with TaiG hanging at 30% or 40%? Does this fix your issues?

    But still no MAC VERSION!

    • Antzboogie

Not a problem for me Windows runs smoothly on my MacBook without a problem.

When Will They Ever Fix The Issue So Windows 7 64Bit Users Can Use The Tool Without Having To Downgrade iTunes To 12.0.x

    • Shinonuke

I jailbreak iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPad Air and iPad mini retina on my 64 bit laptop with the latest iTunes 64 bit version without issue. If the tool isn’t detecting iPhone driver then google apple iPhone driver issue and download the necessary driver.

      • Hot12345

Dont lie, Still can’t jailbreak with the latest version of itunes with the latest jailbreak… still gets that error apple driver hasnt been fount

      • Spycer0

        read my comment please xD

      • Shinonuke

There isn’t a need to lie. I am typing from my iPhone 6 that I jailbreak. When I jailbreak it hangs at 20%. I have to do it twice.

    • Try to click run as admin. It worked for me.

    • Spycer0

You can use the tool on Windows x64, without downgrading iTunes… This is how I did it: http://www[dot]redmondpie[dot]com/fix-apple-driver-hasnt-been-found-error-during-taig-ios-8.3-jailbreak/ ur welcome 🙂 So basically just download that driver

      • Hot12345

        Thanks!

      • Shinonuke

My previous post instructed you to google the driver and you called me a liar. Next time, make sure you evaluate the facts before you make a mindless responds.

  • Connecting Mac User 

Why can’t these guys take their time and fix all ’em sh!t errors and throw Mac version and everyone will be happy.?! Seriously..

    • Bugs Bunnay

All part of the master plan… And to irritate Mac users.

      • Paklan

Mac users not more than 10%, why need to waste time and effort for them?

      • Chris_Topher12

….or to match yet another wonky jailbreak release with an equally wonky OS, perfect combo!

    • Antzboogie

Just be grateful and don’t whine so much.

  • Preben Faarkrog Hansen

    • Mr_Coldharbour

Good for you mate. Welcome back to the land of iPhone liberation, where your iPhone is free from the shackles that Apple has imposed upon it! =)

  • iltas

    stupid question
after jailbreak i make to much reboots and respring /// IS THT CREATE ANY PROBLM IN MY DEVICE
    REALLY NEED HELP

    • Mr_Coldharbour

Too many resprings can be bad for your device yes. Try not to respring too much. Also, instead of respringing like when installing a new tweak through Cydia, you can just quit Cydia (after it shows you the “Restart Springboard” text) and reboot your device (hold power button, slide to power off, then start device again). You don’t HAVE to tap on “Restart Springboard” on Cydia when installing/updating new tweaks. That’s what I do all the time. And I try to avoid any tweaks that require resprings, I hate resprings.

      • What negative effects does a restoring have?

      • Mr_Coldharbour

On battery life, too much of it on a daily basis can make battery life deteriorate after a while (medium to long-term). Refer to Jeff’s or Cody’s comments in I don’t know what episode of Lets Talk Jailbreak and they experienced a drastic decrease in battery life on their iPhone 6 Pluses and one of them made a comment on the number of resprings they performed on their devices and the other said somewhere along the lines of “that can’t be good for battery” and the like. Also, there was a thread on MacRumors a while while back where the topic was resprings and battery life, tried doing a search on it now but having trouble finding it. But in that thread was a pretty convincing discussion on too many resprings on a device that hasn’t been restored in a while could cause a deterioration in battery life in the long-term.

      • M L

Where is any evidence of this being true? Anything?

      • Mr_Coldharbour

I wasn’t under the impression that I was in a court room in front of a jury and judge. I’m not required to answer to your every whim and justify myself. If you bothered to do a a simple Google Search about the topic you’d probably answer your own question. Also, Jeff mentioned a while back in a few Lets Talk Jailbreak episodes that he was getting poor battery life and that his constant resprings was a culprit. Too many or constant resprings on a daily basis can have a negative impact on battery life in the medium to long-term. Try it yourself and see.

      • M L

So touchy lol. I was asking so I could read up on it because I have never heard that before.
        Chill a bit.

      • Mr_Coldharbour

My apologies, it’s hard to make out one’s tone when it’s just text. In plain text it just seemed like you were asking for a justification like I were making it up. Apologies if I seemed abrupt like that.

      • M L

No worries! Want to know the truth? ‘YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH!” Hehehe sorry had to say that.
        Appreciate the info on that!

      • Mr_Coldharbour

A Few Good Men, Tom Cruise crossing Jack Nicholson and Jack bites back with a “You can’t handle the truth!” Great film! Also, no worries, glad I could clear things up. There was a pretty compelling thread on MacRumors where the subject was resprings and battery life. I just avoid any tweaks that force you to respring for the slightest change in its settings. Luckily though I don’t have any tweaks that require a respring. Also another thing I just hate how a respring resets your battery usage stats so instead of pressing the “Restart Springboard” button on Cydia, I just quit Cydia, then reboot the normal way. Changes will still take effect and you would’ve gone easy on your battery and still keep battery usage stats!

      • M L

With the watch my phone usage has dropped and battery has increased dramatically. So I don’t even look anymore

      • Mr_Coldharbour

Yes I hear plenty of people complaining about that. I don’t have an Apple Watch, just not for me, can’t find a use for it. Not saying that I’m going to pass on it forever, time will only tell for me if its use case for it becomes more evident.

      • M L

Oh I wasn’t complaining. The watch last more than all day and now so does my 6plus.

      • Mr_Coldharbour

Good that you have a 6Plus. I regret getting the 6. In fact, the day I preordered, I was pivoting back and forth between the 6 and 6 Plus. I was going back and forth for 3hrs and the 6plus was still available. Finally chose the 6. Went to the store on launch day, paid for my 6, went to checkout the 6Plus on display to see if it was THAT large of a device, held it in my hands, the regret came immediately. It’s not that much bigger, and to have double the battery life. Next iPhones if they keep the same iterations, I’m going with the Plus-versions from here on out!

      • iltas

When I’m doing to much respring I reboot and some time I hard power off
Because last night I have no icon I mean my winter board not showing theme I did it 5 time so I reboot

      • Mr_Coldharbour

Not sure about Winterboard, haven’t used it in years. Could you try removing the theme and go back to stock, then reboot your device, then uninstall the theme from Cydia then add it again later and see if it comes back. Sorry can’t be of much help.

      • Shinonuke

Respring is a software restart versus hard reboot which is actually powering on and off the device. Not sure how a respring can have a negative effect on battery life.

  • Bladimir Slavik

    Mac version please damm it

    • Bugs Bunnay

      Never!!!

    • Paklan

      No need.

      • Chris_Topher12

oh the vocal minority…. I think the poll taken from a few days ago speaks for itself.

      • iPhoneWINS

        exactly

      • Veronica Lowe

selection bias. most ppl who already did it in windows wouldn’t bother to answer the poll or even read the article.

      • Chris_Topher12

Yet again, another very subjective point of view. Veronica, let’s leave the poll to speak for itself. 58% v 36% is quite a margin – a much stronger message than anyone’s individual opinion.

      • Veronica Lowe

so you didnt bother to learn what selection bias means.

  • Bugs Bunnay

“Fixes issue with getting stuck at 30%, 40%. Fixed previous issue with the 60% in previous version.” Guess what other percentage issue will come up and may get fixed in the next version.

  • Will Meadows

If your having iTunes issues I recommend using the ITunes for older video cards that worked for me
