Since the dawn of the iPhone, there have been arguments about whether you should protect your iPhone with a case or leave it completely uncovered to show off its beautiful design. What if there was a way to have the best of both worlds? Well, there is.

Bumpies Minimalist Corner Case is not a case at all. It is actually four small griping pieces of shock-absorbing material that stick to the corners of your iPhone 6, leaving the rest of the beautifully designed smartphone completely naked.

Bumpies are made from sturdy, impact resistant material. They act like a shock absorbing bumper case without the extra case. The tiny corner pieces extend beyond the iPhone edge about 1.25mm, so all sides are protected from touching flat surfaces when dropped.

The corners adhere to your iPhone 6 using 3M-style tape. Once they are installed, they won’t come off very easy thanks to the adhesive. They are also small enough that they will work with many other accessories, like armbands, dashboard mounts, and screen protectors. The corners are contoured and low-profile to be less likely to catch on things when you pull your iPhone out of a pocket or bag.

Bumpies come in a variety of colors, but strangely, not clear. You can buy them for $25 on Amazon. There is a version compatible with the iPhone 6 Plus for the same price.

What do you think of Bumpies? Let us know in the comments below.

$25 for that… I understand this is an innovation but not for me.

  • Grab pieces of rubber and glue and call it a day.

Even if you toss in a ounce of creativity you get at least what these nutters are selling,
Venture caps the world over must love it when they get a production run for “any Apple accessory, guaranteed they are delighted, they know the math on how many ppl buy “rubbish” to accompany their devices,
      Perfect cash cow, Apple fans.
      Blind loyal money wasters.
It has an upside, it makes it easier to spot a fool ala expensive plastic watch

I’m not carrying around something that will gripe all day.

  • Rumpshaker4real

25 $ 4 what????They think most of us got 2 much cash or we’re dumb!!

    • Bugs Bunnay

      or both!

Interesting take, Lory. I’ve had my eye on the Radius by mod-3 for a while.

Anyone had this case who would like to share pros/cons?

    • Valinor

Skip the radius case. Not worth it at all. Ever since the kickstarter release it has problems. Screws breaking off, scratching your iphone, screws getting lose, loose fit over time.

      • socrates

Your input is appreciated. Influenced my decision.

  • Anthony

Even tho tech 21 case are expensive its better then this and protect your iphone 6 or 6 plus a lot better too

  • Shingo

why not $250? please this is too cheap its a great innovation

  • DopamineAddicted

Dbrand skins works good for me and it looks way better than this for about the same price

  • Personally I don’t think it solves either the protection nor the aesthetics problems.

While the bumpers may protect the corners of the device, any other surface is exposed to the elements and prone to being scratched, scuffed, and whatnot. Considering that the majority of the iPhone’s surface is left unprotected, it will more likely land on an exposed surface when dropped than on its corners (that is, if is hits a non-planar object like a table edge). The metal framework and screen will still be vulnerable to scratches and dents.

Placing a bumper on each corner of the device also disrupts the original design by changing the core shape of the phone. Sure, the screen and body are mostly untouched, but having each corner protrude like that not only makes the phone fundamentally look different, but the material is likely to hook or grip to things and when you’re pulling it out of your pocket, that’s an opportunity for the phone to get caught on something and yanked out of your hand and hurtling towards the ground.

Clear silicone cases are usually a better choice as they protect most of the phone’s surface while still allowing the phone’s design to peek through but then again this is just my opinion and maybe the bumpers work better for others.

  • It’s not minimalist at all. Completely stands out.

My fave iPhone 6 Plus cover is clear, very thin and a bit flexible and cost 3.00 at Kmart. Over the months it is prone to yellowing but then I buy another.

    • Bugs Bunnay

spend 10 bucks on a spigen super slim clear tpu (or 3 – 6 bucks when you catch it on sale or with coupon) and be done with it. I have people tell me that I should get a case to protect it, but when i let them take a closer look they go “damn! it does have a case.”

  • socrates

Interesting. Not many people go this in-depth about an issue. I appreciate it.

  • Bugs Bunnay

update this post with a video. i’d to see it in action!

  • TK421

    It is damn fugly.

Good job on your product, it seems wonderful! I know that I will be purchasing a set for my phone simply because I have this void in my soul to fill with as much useless shit as possible. Every day is a new day, and I like to purchase as many things as possible because hell, it’s 2015 and infinite growth won’t be a thing any more if people don’t buy more stuff.

Again, I do wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors and hope you’ll keep churning out more products for people to purchase. I don’t really care what they are. Just make something so we can buy it, and I’ll do my part to keep the hamster wheel charade of blind consumerism turning!

    Cheers. 🙂

Put it in/out of your pocket once and they’re off. LOL who are they kidding?

  • Dhoklastellar Fafda®™

This is fugly and it looks like a cat wearing sneakers plus $25 to boot!

  • Dhoklastellar Fafda®™

Can I know why you’re selling something that costs no more than $3 for $25? And you’re not offering free shipping by default on 4 ‘bumps’? wut?
