mophie Lightning Desktop Dock 1

If I had to guess, I’d bet that a lot of iPhone users charge their device at night, next to their bed. Doing so serves two purposes. You can charge your iPhone through the night while you sleep, and you can use it as an alarm clock. When docked, it could also serve as a display for relaxation images and late night talk show viewing.

The Lightning Desktop Dock from Mophie is a stand that is compatible with the iPhone 5, 5s, 5c, and 6. Connect your device to the dock and it will charge all night while you watch movies in portrait mode until you fall asleep.

The simplistic dock is made from heavyweight materials so it stays in place when you lift your iPhone 6 from the charging port. The Lightning connector is on a pivot, so you can charge your device whether it is in a case or not. However, the company notes that this particular dock is only compatible with “an Apple Leather or Silicone case made for the iPhone 6.”

It connects via USB, so you don’t have to connect it to a wall plug. If you are charging your iPhone near your computer, you can connect it right to the USB port.

Because the dock is designed to display your iPhone 6 in an upright position, you can still use it for a number of activities while it charges. Make FaceTime calls, check your email, and listen to music.

The cord is 3.5 feet long, which isn’t exactly lengthy. However, it is long enough to reach most household plugs from a tabletop or nightstand.

It is designed to be compatible with the iPhone 5, 5s, 5c, and iPhone 6, so multiple users can take advantage of its convenient charging power, even if they have an older device (at separate times, of course).

The Mophie Lightning Desktop Dock costs $79.95 on Amazon and is available in black or gold.

  • extrablade

Lol I do that stuff on purpose.

One of my other favorites is “hey, let’s meat up.”

  • Ethan Humphrey

I think this is helpful, but I have a mophie charging case so there is no way to use them together. They should make one that docks their case.

    • jgr627

Or they should make one that fits the 6 plus, where’s the love? 6 and 6 plus came out on the same exact day so it’s kind of lame for a company to make a product for one and not the other.

      • Ethan Humphrey

The reason is that the plus is so big that it would not be universal anymore and fit. I agree though and that must suck. Who knows? They could be working on one now.

      • Alex Noyle

DockPlus and a bunch of Belkin docks support the 6+ 🙂

  • Sharma15

My Belkin dock costs half as much as this dock and supports any device that’s lightning enabled. only drawback is that it isn’t case friendly. Much better deal this this dock.

    • derekaw

Agree, I have the Belkin dock and it fits my 6 plus.

  • Wolfgang Loss-Wells

I bought a belkin Lightning dock for 25 bucks. How is this worth 80$?

  • Dhoklastellar Fafda®™

Very reasonably priced. Seems to be crafted from a single block of aircraft grade aluminum and coated with unicorn keratin. Definitely worth it.

  • Techsticles

    Woah. That’s pricey.

I have a Belkin dock on my desk that was $20 and have a JBL speaker dock on my nightstand that was $30.

  • bd14u

i thought its bad for the battery to charge it more than 3 hours.

  • Stephaughn Alston

I hold my phone and stay $80 richer 🙂

I’m uncertain how I experience that change. In a way it’s cool that each of them have their very own names, but it also breaks the formula collection by its siblings (Twilight, Harry Potter, Starvation Games) who kept the names of the last publications whole and only tagged them apart 1 & Portion 2.
