calendar iphone

As promised in November, Google today released a new Calendar app for iPhone. The app features the company’s highly regarded Material Design UI, and a host of powerful features that should appease folks in the Google ecosystem.

Among those features is its close integration with Gmail, allowing it to cull data from your inbox. So say you receive a confirmation email after purchasing concert tickets, the app will automatically add that event to your calendar.

  • A new Schedule View – See your schedule at a glance with photos and maps of the places you’re going.
  • Events from Gmail – Flight, hotel, concert, restaurant reservations and more are added to your calendar automatically.
  • Assists to fill in your calendar – You can quickly create events with smart suggestions for event titles, places and people.
  • Different ways to view your calendar – Speedily switch between viewing a single day to getting an overview of multiple days at once.
  • All your calendars in one, easy place – Google Calendar works with all calendars on your phone, including Exchange and iCloud.

You can find Google Calendar in the App Store for free.

    WOW! Only in US?
Sucks! Been waiting for this and then Google starts trolling.

Its available at the Greek App Store, so I’m pretty sure it will be on your App Store too.

Go to other Google products and then click developer apps and go to the bottom of the list and you should be able to see it.

Got ten dollars for beta testing it via test flight
    It was a nice surprise

    • Jonathan

How did you sign up for the beta test?

Seems Like is only available in the US app store for now….. C’mon Google!

Been using this as my go to calendar app for several months, I like it a lot. Works especially well if you use Gmail.

  • Maybe I missed it but does this have a notification center widget?

      No

It’s a decent start. However, There’s no week view. And I can’t select a specific calendar (as I have 8) for a new event – I can only pick a color? Ugh. I’ll hold off until a few updates come out. For now, I’ll stick with “Calendars 5” which has rocked my phone for 2 years!

Seems decent if you want to integrate gmail with your calendar, but otherwise….

Terrible if you have multiple calendar events at same time or overlapping time. Readdle Calendar 5 is much, much better for seeing daily calendars.

    Thanks. 😀
