Apple Watch Cult of Mac 001

Apple CEO Tim Cook just shed more light on the Apple Watch’s launch this spring, announcing on the company’s quarterly earnings call the Apple Watch will be shipping to customers in April.

Cook didn’t provide a specific launch date during April, saying development was on track. However he did dispel the rumor the Apple Watch would launch in March.

When the Apple Watch was announced in September, the company only said it was targeting a launch for early 2015.

The company still hasn’t provided details on pricing.

Try 7 months, not 8. Apple kept the watch in house because manufacturers like Samsung tended to leak and steal information to keep up. The original iPhone had a similar timeline and the original iPad to a smaller degree. So you want Apple to releas products under done? Then you’d bitch about that too. Apple just can’t win with people like you..

Lets count shall we. Announced the 9th, so September, October, November, December, January, February, March and April because I guarantee you its not being released April 1st lol. And who are “people like me”? Im just curious about your ignorant remark 😀

      • Kr00

Ummm, sorry to embarrass but try again. September to October is one month down, inclusive and so on up to April. Count again. And you call others ignorant. Precious.

“People like you” just love to bitch and moan about everything. You must be soooo much fun at parties, and forums like this.

Basically, if it’s released on or before 9th April, then it’s 7 months, and if it’s after it’s 7 months and however many days.

Announced on September 9th. September 9th –> October 9th (1 month); October 9th –> November 9th (2 months); November 9th –> December 9th (3 months); December 9th –> January 9th (4 months); January 9th –> February 9th (5 months); February 9th –> March 9th (6 months); March 9th –> April 9th (7 months). I’m going to make a guess and say that the Apple Watch will launch on a Friday (just a hunch). So I would say either April 10th or April 17th, which is just 7 months and 1 day or 7 months and 8 days from the announcement. Apple has ALWAYS announced a new device category product months in advanced to build hype and to improve quality control. Once the first generation is released, the next generation will be announced and released within the same month. For example, the iPhone 6 and 6 plus launched on September 19th, 10 days after the announcement on September 9th. I will refrain from saying anything disrespectful to you, because we all have opinions. But if we are talking about factual, objective statements, ANY day in April will easily be less than 8 months from September 9th of last year. My prediction of either April 10th or April 17th is definitely subjective, based on the premise of historical product launches by Apple. I’m just stating the obvious for you sir. But all in all, this is a silly arguement as none of us know why Apple would release the Apple Watch more than a month after it’s announcement. Again (and this is my presumption and is subjective), Apple will definitely want to release a product that meets its high quality standards, with little to no bugs within the software at launch. But manufacturing and launching a product of this caliber at a mass production level with millions of potential units being shipped will likely decrease the probability of a bug-free, defect-free product at launch.

That’s how there were no leaks prior to the announcement.

Apple can’t seem to win with all these moaners about.

  • Still can’t see me buying one of those watches for 350.00. The price has to come down for me to even bite on it. Plus it’s version 1, 2 will be a lot better which is the one I may purchase again assuming the price is right. No new iPhone for me this year, finally skipping a year since my 6 plus is perfect for everything I need it for. Usually I’m an every year upgrade guy, but 128gb option is great for me. Hoping for a really amazing new design in iPhone 7.

Samsung is set to launch a watch that has a sim card meaning you can leave your phone at home.

Can it be used as a gps tracking and will it have bluetooth?

  • WaterTrooper

Next version of Apple Watch will have the same problems with the battery. Due to the fact it will be thinner.

  • MacGuru96

NOO! I wanted it at least by March. :/

    C’est la vie…

Probably April 1st it will be released. Considering Apple was founded April 1st 1976. In April 1st 2015 Apple will close 39 years since it was founded. So they probably will release it then and will display in the website 39 years of innovation or something like that. And will probably have a timeline with all their products leading to the Apple Watch.

And then they bust out with.. April Fools! 🙁 we’re not actually releasing it until “Early Fall 2015” which they will push until December 1st lol 🙁

  • Daniel Maia

Hey, the way I see it, the longer they take, the better the watch.
