Boximize – ($4.99 $1.99) – a structured note taking app that brings you the power of personal databases and the simplicity and usability of note taking apps. Download it for iPhone and iPad here.

TextExpander 3 – ($4.99 $1.99) – this iOS 8 keyboard lets you create custom abbreviations that expand into long snippets of text. Download for iPhone and iPad here.

Mujo – ($1.99 free) – this unique tile-stacking puzzler is free right now as Apple’s App of the Week. Download it for iPhone and iPad here.

Valiant Hearts: The Great War – ($4.99 free) – Ubisoft’s interactive World War I comic book is IGN’s Free App of the Month for January. Note that this only includes episode 1 of the multi-episodic tale, and you must follow the instructions here to get it for free.


Google Translate – (free) – Google’s free translation app received a monster update today, adding Word Lens technology and an all new conversation mode. Download it for iPhone and iPad here.

Due – ($4.99) – this popular to-do app also received a major update today, going 2.0 with an all new-design, new gesture actions and new features. Download it for iPhone and iPad here.

MEGA – (free) – this update actually hit yesterday, but it’s worth mentioning as it adds some significant features to the iOS client for Kim Dotcom’s cloud storage service such as automatic camera uploads, Touch ID and video upload support. Download it for iPhone here.

Skype – (free) – Microsoft’s VoIP app received a small update today with enhanced chat picker, dialer and other improvements. Download it for iPhone and iPad here.


Google Classroom – (free) – Google’s virtual classroom software now has an iOS client for viewing and turning in assignments and chatting with classmates. Download it for iPhone and iPad here.

FunkySwipe – (free) – puts a new spin on Instagram, allowing you to swipe to see next photo and tap to like/unlike and follow/unfollow other users. Download it for iPhone and iPad here.

Shadowmatic – ($2.99) – an imagination-stirring puzzler with incredible visuals that has you rotate abstract objects in a spotlight to find recognizable silhouettes in projected shadows. Download it for iPhone and iPad here.

WWE Immortals (free) – your favorite WWE Superstars develop supernatural powers in this highly anticipated fighter that features innovative touch-based combat controls, incredible graphics and online multiplayer. Download for iPhone and iPad here.

Starlike – (free) – new from AOL, this app allows you to see all your friends’ faves and likes on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, and puts them together in one place so you won’t miss anything interesting. Download it for iPhone here.

SineWave – (free) – created by veteran developers from the Guitar Hero and DJ Hero series, SineWave is billed as the “must have” music and rhythm game of 2015. Download it for iPhone and iPad here.
