whatsapp

The Facebook-owned cross-platform messaging service WhatsApp has updated its iOS client today, bringing the app to version 2.11.14. The team says the new version fixes bugs and crashes, as well as adds support for the new iPhones.

The app now looks great on the larger display of the iPhone 6, and the larger, higher resolution display of the iPhone 6 Plus. WhatsApp, which Apple labels as an App Store “Essential,” was one of the few remaining top tier apps to update.

Today’s release follows a backend update earlier this month, which enabled a new feature that indicates when your message has been sent, delivered and read. Not everyone loved the addition, though, so we made a tutorial on disabling it.

WhatsApp has over 600 million users, and is available in a number of countries on several platforms. If you don’t already have the app, you can check out the latest version in the App Store for free. Unfortunately, it’s still exclusive to iPhone.

    • abhi0n0nakul

Well its just the resolution update thats why quick(in whatsapp world)
      No ios 8 updates

      • ThoseCurves

no quick reply ? oh man, you gotta be kidding !! damn it..

      • abhi0n0nakul

Hehe well quick reply is only for messages app. Its api is cannot be used by devs
But interactions can be done on notifications that dont require keyboard

      • no you’re wrong. It’s api can be used by developers. Proof: Try Tweetbot. I can reply to any mentions straight from quick reply.

      • abhi0n0nakul

        No it is not.
The reply action in tweetbot takes to the app. That is not quick reply.
While for messages you can reply in lockscreen only of himescreen only without opening app

    • jack

      Monday is the update day

  • abhi0n0nakul

  • Adan

So Whatsapp is ‘available on several platforms’ or ‘still exclusive to iPhone’??? Which one is it? #shoddy

    • Juked

When he said exclusive to iPhone he meant in regards to other idevices specifically the iPad. #Clarity.

      • Karthick

Exclusive to iPhone means, This update is not for other OS like Android/Windows 🙂

    Still no iPad support!!

    • Vvbreaker

If your iPad is jailbreak, 1)go to Cydia
      2) add whatspad (tweak support Whatsapp on ipads)
      3) download Whatsapp from a Chinese ipa installer for instance add source in cydia : http://apt.25ppDotCom
From this source, add the app that starts with letters (PP Chinese characters 2.0)
      3) after it reboots, go to this Chinese app click the search icon and type Whatsapp and it’ll automatically be installed and ready to use

      • Osama Hamdy El-Sharnoby

Chinese stores have a very bad reputation nowadays!!

      • SIMON

        Okay anything, let’s try again…

WhatsApp does not work on the iPad, because it needs registered phone number – now I understand what’s going on. So try this:

Please let me know if this solves your problem.
