olloclip iphone 6

Popular mobile device accessory maker Olloclip introduced a new product today for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. It’s a 4-in-1 photo lens kit, designed exclusively for Apple’s two latest handsets, that includes fisheye, wide-angle, 10x and 15x lenses.

The new Olloclip brings about some new features as well. For the first time ever, all four lenses work with both the iSight and FaceTime cameras, and thanks to a new customizable pendant, it can be clipped to a backpack, lanyard or key ring.

For those unfamiliar with the Olloclip, it’s a unique clip-on lens system for the iPhone and iPad. The accessory installs and uninstalls in seconds, with no need for additional tools, and all the lenses allow for crisp photos in normal and low light.

If you’re interested the new Olloclip for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, it’s available for pre-order today on the company’s website for $79.99. It’s expected to begin shipping within a few weeks, and should start showing up on store shelves by late November.

Am I the only one who thinks the price is insane?

    • It’s how they make their money.

      1. Release insanely expensive product for iPhone X
      2. Sell insanely expensive product
      3. Repeat for iPhone Y since the insanely expensive product you bought will almost certainly not work with the new iPhone you bought…

I understand, but this is going too far (in my opinion), I’d say reasonably sell it for $20, it is still high price but not the insanely $79.99 asking price.

The fact that you think $20 “is still high price” shows that you’re simply cheap and don’t understand or appreciate a well designed product.

      • R N

The fact that other people agree with what I said, it shows who is cheap with their comment.

Thanks for the insult btw :).

With a “real” camera (ie digital SLR) the most expensive part is the lens. Not the camera body itself. The price is justified if the glass used is high quality with the right coatings. I’m curious how effective these things really are. It could really expand the photographic potential of the iPhone. I bet Flickr has a whole group dedicated to theses lenses.

    • It’s as insane as the price of the device you’re buying it for…accessory makers be like if customer can spend insane amount of cash on product A, then they can spend insane amount of cash on accessory for product A.

      • R N

You can say that as many times as you want, does not remove the fact that this is insanely over priced.

      • Not saying it’s worth it, just saying it’s as worthy to purchase as the device you’re buying it for. Almost every smartphone is insanely overpriced. But sadly, people still buy them…

      • R N

Ya I get your point, it sad indeed…

      like all iPhone accessories

I prefer the knock-off ones on Amazon that will still work with a case on. Not to mention they cost 1/4 the price.

  • Tommy

80 bucks for something that prolly costs less than 8 bucks. Meh. I’ll stick to “just-normal” iPhone photos.

    • Ripoff price accessories for ripoff price products…they go hand in hand.

would you buy this product from the same maker for $10 less on a galaxy s5? Or maybe you can tell me another similar accessory (4 in 1 camera lens) for what you would describe as a reasonably priced products. From my experience, cases, accessories from popular brands, that sell for a variety of phone models, have very similar priced accessories. iPhone gets you a better variety though, and that allows for a cheaper choice.

like the iPhone, costs around 200$ but they charge 1000$
