Apple Store goes offline ahead of today’s iPad/Mac event

Apple Store down (OCtober 2014)

Just as you’d expect, Apple’s Online Store in the United States and around the world has been taken offline ahead of today’s iPad and Mac media event. This is Apple’s standard modus operandi: the company always takes the online store down ahead of major press conferences and important events.

Visiting the store yields the message “We’ll be back. We’re busy updating the Apple Store for you and will be back soon”. Typically, the store refreshes with new products right after the event has wrapped up so today should be no different.

The iPhone maker is scheduled to unveil new products today at 10am Pacific, 1pm Eastern and iDownloadBlog will be providing ongoing coverage throughout the day so check back often.

We’re expecting a number of announcements during the event, including new versions of both the iPad Air and iPad mini, the long-awaited Retina Display iMac and much more.

You can watch a live-stream of the event on your iOS device or Mac, as well as through the just-refreshed ‘Apple Events’ channel on the Apple TV.

Who’s ready for the show? We are.
