Waze 3.7.7. for iOS (iPhone screenshot 003)

Waze, the popular GPS-based maps and traffic app that Google purchased for undisclosed sum in June of 2013, has received an update Monday bringing out half a dozen new features and improvements, including enhancements related to remembering where you parked your car.

A free update, Waze 3.9 lets you add driving related information if a place has a parking lot or drive-thru. The app also saves your parking location so it’s now a lot easier to find your vehicle in the parking lot.

You can use the app to add or edit places and points of interests, a feature previously available only through Waze’s web interface.

International Waze customers will benefit from the search autocomplete feature which the firm has now rolled out to everyone.

Waze 3.9 changelog:

  • Easily add or edit places, business or residential
  • Add driving related info like if a place has a parking lot or drive-thru
  • Add arrival photos to help others find a place at any time
  • Drive with Waze until you park: your parking location will be saved automatically. Plus, you’ll help Waze learn where to find parking & how much time to account
  • Search autocomplete added worldwide
  • Multiple bug fixes and optimizations

The 47.9-megabyte iPhone and iPad app requires iOS 6.0 or later.

I stopped using this app the day Google bought it. I guess the app is still going strong…

I’ve only seen normal improvements since then and nothing negative. One would not even know that Google bought it.

I’ve noticed that things only get better when Google gets a hold of them. Why would you stop using something you like BEFORE you found any problems with it, just assuming you would find problems.

When I get my 6 Plus I’m gonna wanna try this out more. I’m guessing its more accurate than Apple Maps. lol even though they are improving. Some of these features are hard to ignore though, might have to switch.

I like Apple Maps, but I use Waze while driving because of the live information about road hazards, speedtraps etc.

Yeah that would def be more helpful. My battery life sucks on my 5 so thats why I’m waiting on the new phone so then I wont have to worry as much.

Waze is awesome. I know of at least one location in NYC where they reconfigured the road a few years ago and Apple Maps still has it wrong and will send you the wrong way. It’s updated in both Waze and Google Maps.

Also love Waze info about police ahead, cars on shoulder, etc. Waze has yet to steer me wrong. Always routes me around traffic using some weird roads that I never knew about, but saves a lot of time.

Waze for iOS is such a great app… Is what I miss most… Waze for Android is a crappy little shitty app. I can’t wait to buy mi iPhone 6 in my country!
