iphone ads

Apple has posted two new iPhone 6 ads to its YouTube channel. The commercials are titled “Cameras” and “Huge,” and they highlight some of the benefits of the updated cameras and larger displays found on the recently-launched handsets.

The two videos are very much inline with the spots we saw during the iPhone 6 event, in that they feature voice overs done by celebrities Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon running down various new features of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

I have to say that I actually like these ads a lot. They’re funny—I think Fallon and Timberlake have great chemistry—and they do a great job of focusing on the products and their features, something that tends to get lost in more extravagant ads.

What do you think of the new adverts?

I love these new ads. They’ve got that fun “Apple” touch to them. Funny, enjoyable, and simple.

      unlike another company

The next horrible thing is here?

      • Capirexz

Samsung will hire Grammy awards winner soon~

  • Jonathan

Wow, this even makes the 6 look small in the guy’s hand..

Yep, I’m still going for 6 plus.

    • iNeedANameHere

I got the 6 after using a 6 Plus at the Best Buy store I picked mine up at. The 6 plus was beautiful and I lost myself in the screen for a bit but quickly noticed how difficult it was to use in one hand. I struggle to use the 6 with one hand laying in bed especially when reaching for corners. Reachability is nice but sometimes it still requires readjusting my hand to comfortably touch Touch-ID. All of which leaves me glad I decided on the 6. I do have fairly large hands as my co-workers like to repeatedly point out haha but the plus would be far too much for me even though it was originally my first choice. It comes down to what you want really in the end just throwing my experience out there with you.

      • Kurt

From experience you may regret the smaller iPhone. Yes at first a phablet feels big. But you quickly get used to it and will never go back to a small screen. Though I know people who have but…

Playing with it in store is just not enough time.

      • Cameron Chao

ALOT of people have returned from phablets to a smaller screen, plenty… And im not even mentioning back to Apple, alot go back to regular under 5″ size Android screens too. Phablets arent for everyone, infact, its not for 90% of people, alot of them are making do with the problems of a way too big screen for the once in a while enjoyment it gives, only some like you enjoy to multitask and stylus over it. (I dont know what work you do)

      • Jonathan

Thanks for sharing! I have rather large hands (still wouldn’t be enough to do 1 handed use though comfortably..) and would love an iPad Mini Mini. So, an iPhone 6 Plus. I tried the paper cutout versions, and the plus seems rather perfect for me. But, I haven’t tried it in a store, and that’ll be the deciding factor for me.

    • RarestName

TIL my “small” Asian hands are actually normal sized.

  • Kurt

Fallon and Timberlake are annoying. But they don’t ruin how awesome that slowmo is and that beautiful OIS lens.

  • Mike M. Powell

    Take some notes Shamesung…

    • Jonathan

      with their “S Pen?”

  • Hilarious yet straight to the point, master marketing…no wonder.

    • felixtaf

They know how to SELL better than anyone!

  • stann1q

Likeable and funny, it actually made me laugh. “This is the new…” seemed very familiar, but can’t remember where from. Hope i will get my iPhone 6 before christmas.

  • Gersham Shams

Great ads, especially the 1st. Felt like they took key elements from the mac vs pc ads; but tactfully, it highlighted the product and not the competition.

  • n0ahcruz3

I dont dislike apple but, iPhone camera is the most overrated smartphone camera. No offense to fanboys.

    • C’mon. The MOST overrated smartphone camera? It’s a hella good camera, not the greatest, but definitely not the worst.

      • n0ahcruz3

The most overrated because alot of people saying its the best smartphone camera. Its decent but not so great.

      • So how does the fact that it’s not the best make it overrated? It’s still if I remember rightly the most used camera on Flickr and Apple still manages to pump out amazing images even though it’s clear the specs are nowhere near as good as other cameras. In short yes the iPhone camera isn’t the best camera but all of the sensors and software helps to produce gorgeous imagery despite the fact it’s clear it isn’t the best camera in the world.

      • n0ahcruz3

Is it me or Did u just answer your own question?

      • I don’t know. Perhaps I did. I was trying to refute the claim it’s overrated by saying it’s amazing how good the images are considering the specs aren’t on par with the competition. Perhaps saying the iOS camera hasn’t reached its true potential would be better. When Apple roles the dice and says “Let’s go for it” the iOS camera will be so much better in the future.

TLDR; The iOS camera isn’t up to scratch with the competition in terms of specs but that doesn’t make it overrated.

      • Kurt

Saying it’s the best is overrated so I agree with him. But the Plus’s camera is still a great camera. I’ve seen so many amazing pictures taking with an iPhone with no post processing. But I hate when fanboys say it’s the best. It’s absolutely not. But I’m confident we will always have a great camera in the iPhones

      • It definitely isn’t the best but then nobodies saying it is are they? I don’t think I’ve ever heard anybody call the iPhone the best camera because it simply isn’t true. Then again as you point out fanboys often say such things…

      • Kurt

If you want I can link you to a number of people on this site who said it. Without a doubt it’s a great camera. So many amazing pictures and videos have been taking with it. But lumia phones have the best camera.

      • n0ahcruz3

Apple should’ve done more with this years iphone. But oh well i guess they’re saving it for the S version. i6 should also have the ois but they didnt include it bummer.

      • Kurt

It’s definitely not the best. But it’s a great camera. Especially now with the OIS. But need more MP, 4K vid, control over ISO etc, ability to take pictures in lower MP. But over all it’s a great camera.

      • felixtaf

“There is always an app for that”.
But sadly a 4K app cost you 999$. DWL

      • Kurt

        Cheap!

      • Martynet

sorry, but I haven’t seen a smartphone with better camera.

  • Tim

Ohhhhhh that is so Huge! That’s what she said.

  • Chindavon

I like this new marketing team.

  • Yujin

They look great. With jimmy Fallon and Justin timberlake they make a good couple (as close as two “str8” guys can be ) lol

  • Rami Tabaa

    Classy as in Apple 😉

  • MVCHASE

Unlike the earlier claim of “apple photoshopping out the camera” these ads shows that they are not shy about it because they put a great camera on this device. Also we all saw the iPod touch so there is no scandal!

  • I wonder how many people know they are Fallon and Timberlake (if they didn’t hear it from Cook during the keynote)
