iPhone 6 seamless screen

With the actual product launch behind us, we can turn to the accessory realm. Dedicated devices have been in production behind the scenes and I received information about a few select versions about a week ago. The cases in the post are either going on sale today or by week’s end. Either way, the purchasing link is included below the case description.

Keep in mind, early production cases sometimes are not built on actual dimensions, instead using dummy devices that leak from the Chinese supply chain. Having never held any of these in my hands, or even an iPhone 6 for that matter, I cannot guarantee exact fit. However, if you are looking to keep your iPhone protected from day 1, you may want to nab one of these guys.

Selection

Again, please keep in mind the following cases are merely the ones I had early access to view. Including them in this round up is not a sign of personal endorsement. Rather, this is just an initial look at iPhone 6 (and/or Plus)-ready cases. The accessories below are included in no particular order. Finally, the information included to describe the product is simply what I received from the company’s marketing team or website. The completeness or lack thereof, is dependent solely on the information I was able to glean from personal communications and web views.

Spigen: iPhone 6 Slim Armor CS

Spigen Slim Armor CS

The Spigen iPhone 6 Slim Armor CS features a vertical sliding compartment for card storage. It closes completely for a flat back. Inside the case is an “advanced” shock absorbing technology, using a web patterned TPU casing. The TPU and exterior offer a dual layer of protection for the new device. The Slim Armor is available in Gunmetal, Shimmery White, Mint, and Champagne Gold starting at $18.99 on Amazon.

Spigen: iPhone 6 Wallet S

Spigen Wallet S

Spigen’s Wallet S is a “premium” synthetic leather. Some call it pleather or vegan leather. It offers a wallet style, slim folio type to minimize bulk and weight. When flipped to one side the case offers multiple viewing angles. The case has slots for essential cards, topping off around three. The Wallet S starts on Amazon at $12.99 in Black, White, Mint, and Pink.

Spigen: iPhone 6 Screen Protector GLAS.tR SLIM

Spigen GLAS.tR Slim iPhone 6

The Spigen GLAS.tR SLIM is 28% thinner and lighter than previous versions. The R stands for the rounded edges of the protection. This change is to accommodate the new rounded edges on both the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus and to deflect shock and bumps. Even knives and other sharp objects cannot scratch the surface. The oleophobic coating prevents the build up of fingerprints and contaminants on the screen over time. This screen protector is $12.99 for iPhone 6, and $15.99 for iPhone 6 Plus.

Incipio: DualPro Case

Incipio DualPro iPhone 6

The Incipio DualPro uses a hybrid design with two layers for drop protection while still remaining thin and easy to hold. A shock absorbing dLAST inner core does not stretch or tear and fits inside a rigid Plextonium polycarbonate outer shell to shield against scratches and impact. The Plextonium outer shell has a soft-touch coating to offer additional grip. The DualPro is currently available in Coral or Light Blue on Amazon, starting at $21.30. Additional colors can be ordered with a slightly longer wait. However, the SHINE edition can be found starting at $23.01 in black.

Incipio: FEATHER

Incipio Feather iPhone 6

Incipio’s FEATHER lightweight case features high density Plextonium polycarbonate with shock absorbing EVA interior. The case snaps onto iPhone 6 and uses a very thin casing as to not take away from the overall feeling of the device. FEATHER is one of Incipio’s simplest cases for the minimalists. It is available in clear, pink, black, turquoise, red, navy, gray, and light blue. FEATHER is currently available in pink on Amazon for $25.00. Other colors are available for preorder, but other colors can take up to 1 – 2 months to ship and can also be pre-ordered on Amazon.

Incipio: WATSON

Incipio iPhone 6 Watson

The Incipio wallet folio, WATSON, is a 2 in 1 case. The snap-on shell hooks with a vegan leather fold over folio cover. It has three card slots for cards and IDs. It is great for someone who wants a versatile option on their iPhone 6. An outer elastic band makes sure everything stays tucked together nicely. The Incipio Watson can be pre-ordered on Amazon for $44.99 in purple, pink, black and gray.

Silk Innovation: Stealth Armor Tough Case

Silk Innovation Stealth Armor Tough Case

The Stealth Armor Tough Case by Silk Innovation boasts military-grade protection, guarding your device from drops, dings, and scratches with 1mm elevated 360-degree corners. It uses dual layered construction with a shock absorbing core and a polycarbonate exoskeleton shell. Silk uses a shock dispersion tactic they are calling “dual-tred,” which uses air pockets and treaded design on the inner core. Included are 3 interchangeable backplates in gunmetal, gold and silver with a scratch resistant screen protector. You can pre-order one via Amazon for $18.

Silk Innovation: Vault Slim Wallet Case

Silk Innovation Vault Slim Wallet Case iPhone 6

Another by Silk, this ultra-slim and protective wallet case fits 3 cards plus some cash. The one piece build offers 6 sided coverage. Included with the wallet is a scratch resistant screen protector. It will feature a soft touch finish and button covers that intend to still provide a tactile feedback when depressed. The wallet case is available through Amazon for $14.99.

Silk Innovation: ClearView Ultra Slim Case

Silk Innovation ClearView Ultra Slim iPhone 6 Case

A third entry from Silk is the ClearView Ultra Slim Case. The thin protective bumper also covers the device back with a clear window built into the frame. Similar to the Stealth Armor above, the ClearView uses the “Dual-tred” shock absorption system with air pockets and corner tread design. Like the Wallet case, ClearView uses tactile button covers and comes with a scratch resistant screen protector. Additional coverage guards the front screen with bumpers projecting passed the device’s front. ClearView is available on Amazon for $11.99.

Urban Armor Gear: iPhone 6 Case

Urban Armor Gear iPhone 6 Blue

The Urban Armor Gear iPhone 6 Case is a hard armor shell with soft impact resistant core. The rigid structure combines with a light weight case and heavy duty protection, but still offers easy access to buttons/ports. Meeting military standards, the case is certified MIL STS 810G 516.6 for drop tests. The HD screen protector should guard against scratches. Armor Gear promises glare-free flash photos and no audio distortion. It is available in Aero, Aviator, Maverick, Navigator, Outland, Scout, and Valkyrie at $34.95.

CM4: Q Card Case for iPhone 6

CM4 Q Card Case for iPhone 6

The CM4 Q Card Case is slim and functional with room for 3 credit cards and some extra cash. A 1mm front bezel means you can lay it flat without scratching the iPhone’s screen. Q Card utilizes a patent pending soft-touch rubber and premium fabric which makes it easy to pull from a pocket without catching. Interestingly, it has “Samsung Galaxy S4 design featuring an integrated audio amplifier, providing excellent sound clarity.” I am a little skeptical of that one. It is available in Black Onyx, Pacific Green, and Champagne Gold for $39.99 via Amazon.

Ongoing coverage

As I am able to receive iPhone 6 hardware, case reviews will be covered as they are available. While the above is a quick round up of information I received prior to launch, the goal is typically to provide a real review as opposed to re-listing information from marketing representatives. Giving a true opinion is only possible with the case actually in-hand.

Have you already been able to find some quality cases for iPhone 6? Make sure to share them in the comments below, or shoot them my way @jim_gresham!

  • Straw hat

Lol out of all those the first one looks the best.

    • jalexcarter

Definitely Spigen is the best case maker. Already got my Spigen tough armor for my iPhone 6. Here’s to hoping it fits well!

      • marco1993

This is one of my favourite from spigen

      • Kelvin Lieu

What’s the name of this case? It’s beautiful!

      • felixtaf

Spigen Neo-Hybrid. Its a cool case and offers good protection too!

      • Antzboogie

I like the Spigen bumper case. Bumper cases have not failed me yet with a full body screen protector does the job.

      • JustReboot

I picked up the Dante Red edition of this case about 2 weeks ago (Spigen had early orders on amazon) It’s about $16. Oh and yea, it’s really nice (Had the same one on my 5s).

      • felixtaf

Am buying Dante Red and Gunmetal gray for the 6 Plus. I had Gunmetal gray on my old Note 3 and I loved the case!!! Its cheaper than Incipio, Casemate and otterbox, yet good looking and offers great protection. My money goes to Spigen!!!

      • JustReboot

Here’s a better shot of my case (6 – NOT plus:)) If you want a live picture to go by…

      • neogeo71

that’s the one I went for. really pleased withthe look and feel…

      • Joshua Woodcraft

I have exactly the same case on my phone right now. Absolutely love it! I also just bought the satin silver version of the Spigen Slim Armor too, WITHOUT the kickstand or card slot.

  • Ben

The irony with the cases that carry cards

    • Some stores won’t accept apple pay and if they did it still would take some time to roll out.. another reason some don’t want to use apple pay lol

      • Al

I think the point of the matter. To push these stores to support Apple Pay. It helps us to move forward… Eventually Microsoft & Google will implement their version of the payment system.

      • I just hope they get to a standard and keep it, no point in having a whole bunch of different options/pay terminals.

      • Al

Well, the standard would be NFC. Apple finally put their best foot forward.. with their implementation. Google needs to improve on theirs. And Microsoft hasn’t provided one just yet. But Android users will only benefit from Apple joining in on NFC. It’s on the stores to support NFC.. that will benefit the consumers.

      • Al

Case in point. Target has shown their interest in supporting Apple Pay. But Wal-Mart hasn’t. Therefore when a Apple Pay user get ready to shop.. 9 times out of 10 they will go to Target before going to Wal-Mart.

      • John

I read an articles recently about the reason why Wal-Mart hasn’t supported Apple Pay and I think from memory it has to do with their investors losing out on technology they have previously invested in.

      • Yujin

The main reason is Walmart is also developing their our “currency” based on a qr code. But wigh all the glossy screens reading it and delaying the line will soon discourage the user and fail….in the meantime, apple pay may take over the rest of the marke.

      • I don’t know maybe they will choose the favorite store with better price over something that takes a few less seconds.. These feature are really great but you’d be surprised how many customers come in with a 5S and still don’t use touch ID.

      • Chang in Charge

Definitely not 9 times out of 10 ultimately if a customer is close to a Walmart or Target or they prefer one over the other for product offering will matter much more than whether or not they have Apple Pay. And if both are equal distance from a customer preference for other reasons will definitely take priority over whether or not Apple Pay is available. In the near future you are still going to have to walk with you wallet so this won’t sway customers that much.

      • Agreed, In short apple pay won’t be the reason they choose one store over the other.

      • @dongiuj

Not sure why Japan’s system didn’t become a standard. As long as you have your phone contract then it’s all set up and you just pay back when your bill is due. Done, no complications, easy as pie.

      • Matt

The Lowe’s I went to today don’t have the option to pay with NFC

    • John

Then…there’s of course other countries, you know like countries OUTSIDE America that won’t have Apple Pay.

I know that can be a difficult concept to grasp for some Americans, but believe it or not there’s others out there and so us humble other countries need to still carry cards.

      Damn us.

      • PC

Or carry an ID card or driver’s license, or extra cash, or an ATM card, etc…

      • Ben

Haha I know, I lve in the uk where we have the same issues. It was just kind of funny since Apple Pay was one of the biggest announcements last week but of course these cases still have use, even for Americans

      • raodysseus

Humble? Really, John? Humble? I think you need to look up the word.

      • John

        How cute, you’re still going.
I must have really hit a nerve proving you wrong.

        Trolls gotta troll, I guess.
        Weak. Little. Coward.

      • raodysseus

Coward? No John, being a constant a*s hole to strangers online is being a coward. And weak. And a troll. You’re only upset because you’re being called on it. English is OBVIOUSLY not your first language, but it’s no excuse for hiding online and being rude. It’s fun to watch you get angry though. You’re such an ‘internet tough guy.’

      • John

        Adorable.
I don’t hide behind an online user name with no profile, my account is linked to my Twitter and FB profiles.

There’s no hiding from this side, and I don’t get off on replying to comments that are over 4 weeks old just because I was proven wrong online by someone.

Called on…being a troll? Gosh no, I am amused. Angry? No, I can’t get angry over a pathetic little fool.

Don’t write anything else until I’m back, I need to grab some more popcorn. Don’t write anything else until I’m back.

      • raodysseus

Yes, I’ve seen your rather tiresome FB page and didn’t bother looking at twitter. By the way, ‘No H8’ (which I would support) is about being silenced, not being a loud-mouthed bore online. They don’t have a cause for that. Go back to your cave, John, I’ve enjoyed our 10 minutes.

  • I not gonna by a life proof but I can’t wait to see what they come up with this time around.

  • Juan Genao

I ordered the apple leather case with the phone.

    • IOSGuru9

same they made the specifically for the 6 and i just love the design and thinness of it

      • Dany Quirion

tho in 1 mouth your awesome case will be so dirty

      • Kim Olsson

Thats why you should get the black version 🙂

      • Juan Genao

Yeah, I was very happy with the one I bought for the 5s. After the iphone 4 I never had any scratch problems on the screen so I don’t think the screen protector cases are really necessary. The main issue to to keep the corners from bump when it falls.

    • John

See, I have issues with the Apple cases… They make these beautiful backs (in the case of the iPhone 5s, we haven’t seen the 6 to comment) but then they create cases that hides them.

      Bring back the bumpers!

    • Rafael Castillo

I’d buy one if the bottom were covered. 🙁

(I will probably still buy one, haha.)
The midnight blue one is very nice.

      • Jamessmooth

Same. The apple made leather 5s case is probably the best phone case I’ve ever used.

  • Gucciipad

My iPhone 5s case is tumi. My iPhone. 6s will be tumi also.

  • sdhn

I like the one in the first photo: no case.

  • R4

Jonny Ive will kill himself if he sees someone with these cases.

  • Amac

I’ve had the Incipio dual pro with my iPhone 5 but trying out the Trident case with my iphone 6. Case is set to be delivered Thursday, and phone on Friday. The only thing I didnt like about the incipio is no Apple logo cutout but as far as phone protection they have been great!!

  • JeffyTheQuick

Thank you very much for this information! For me, it looks like the Spigen one. Also, is this for the 6 or the 6+?

    • Merman123

If you click the link, it takes you to the amazon search. There you will find the case for the 6 and 6 Plus.

  • Tommy

    Ugh. They ugly.

  • Andres

I ordered the Spigen Tough Armour case in gunmetal. I love the shape and the buttons. Spigen is a great case maker. I ditched my OtterBox for a spigen case

  • im2slick4u

Im considering getting the Glas.tR does anyone have experience with there version for the 5S?

  • JDB

I’m going with the Poetic Atmosphere for iPhone 6. Very minimal.

  • Kim Olsson

I tried 30-40 diff. cases with my 5 / 5S, and never found “the one”, until Apple released their leather ones. Im using the black one since its the only colors which still looks new after being used daily for +10 months. Perfect fit, perfect small “lip” on the front of the case. Anyone who hasnt tried one really should, Im hoping the new ones fit as well on the 6, even though Im not to fond about the open bottom…

  • ic0dex

I’m going nude, the iPhone 6 Plus looks to sexy to cover it up.

    • BlueintheBlood

I’m with you. I’ll wait to see what Tech 21 does.

  • Tom

YUUUUCK! Apple’s official case is the best looking one I think

  • Harold

i love the clear ones… i almost bought the apple case but the bottom is uncovered so for me that was a downfall… i don’t want any scratches on my baeee! i take care of my iphones better than i take care of my boyfriend. i ended up getting this one

  • Abbas

Does anyone know of a case for Iphone 5 which is like bumper case but with a cover that you insert into the headphone jack when not in use. it’s attached to the bumper case, i saw one the other day on website ad’s but now can’t seem to find it anywhere… help please..

  • Shingo

    element case

  • Alberto Espinal

I like the Clearview ultra slim, i dont like those bulky ones, i like to keep the Iphone as natural as i can!

    • purple

If you want simple yet protective. You should look up Tech21 cases.

  • Chetan

I’ll wait for the bumpers.. I love iPhones and never hide the actual design.. Minimalistic drop protection is enough for me..

    • Joonyaboy

I was like that for iphone 4, 4S, 5 and 5s, but I dropped my 5S and cracked the screen so maybe going for more protection this round

  • Alexander Gennadievich

I’d use PC+TPU Protector Case from Monoprice, it only costs $7 and is probably the best option for day 1 use. As more cases get released (I’m personally waiting for a new Typo Keyboard case), there are more choices to choose from.

  • Martynet

    waiting for mophie 🙂

  • totallymichael

All I use on my iPhone is a screen protector, but I was worried about them working with the new rounded edges. It just seems like they would peel up very easily. That, and feel really stupid. I guess I’ll probably just wait for some reviews to pop up first.

  • Yujin

Kind of fugly so far…I bought a cheap case and a screen protector to keep the phone protected while I wait for the cool cases to come out.

  • Franklin Richards

I don’t get why people like cases where you can put your cards in. I mean talk about putting all your eggs in one basket.

  • intellectual traits

Spigen case + Glass screen protector = Win

  • felixtaf

Spigen Neo-Hybrid needed a mention too.. They are nice and offers good protection at a reasonable price.
Amazon has Spigen store that ships worldwide. 30$ worth cases (2 models) will be around 50$ Including international shipping!

  • Josh

Spigen is my first choice for iPhone accessories

  • @dongiuj

Some of these cases are stupid in the case (situation) that if you lose your phone then you’ve lost your credit card too. Genius. But then that’s just my opinion. I’m sure some of you will be like “oh but it’s on an apple device so it’s ok”.

  • @dongiuj

Give me a box standard silicon case. Always used one and it never scratches and my phones have stayed unmarked since my iPhone 3G.

  • n0ahcruz3

A case with a kick stand will do.

  • Charles

Does anyone know when Bestbuy will get the iPhone 6 Plus?

  • benny001

Some of these cases are a contradiction to the iphone 6 / apple pay ….<

  • MereUser

Can we get the first one for iPhone 6? Cos most of them all saying 6+

  • OK so these are all for protection but what about fashion ?? No cute cheetah or tiger print cases <3

  • OLI8LFC

anyone know a site where you can download the documents for an iphone 6 case, i wanna print it hehe

  • purple

Im waiting for either Tech21 case with bulletproof technology screen protector or LIFEPROOF FRE.
Im debating getting the Otter Box Defender cuz it’s available right now but its just so ugly.
Granted I want protection over anything but can’t I have a little bit of both?
Thats why I like the Tech21 cases, they’re simple looking and super protective.

  • David80

If you’re into premium cases and like leather- The Access Case by Nodus. I’ve been using their iPhone 5 case for a long time now. Love it. Pre-ordered an iPhone 6+ case yesterday

    • Guest

      Looks like this

  • Aaron-James Needles

    THIS ONE 😀

  • Guest

    THIS ONE! 😀

  • Aaron-James Needles

    This one! 😀

  • Guest

Make sure you cover up that metal with plastic! Then brag about that metal phone you have under all that plastic! Whoo hoo!

  • NeftyCorrea

THIS IS MY FAVORITE CASE BRAND. top of there GAME !

  • Brandon Piening

can you guys review some slim flip/wallet cases?
most pics of ones i’ve bought in past are misleading on online shopping sites

my preference is slim as possible, wallet option if doesn’t add bulk
