We’re back with one last edition of App Recap, which covers the best new, updated and discounted apps, to setup your weekend. This week has easily been one of the busiest in a long time in terms of quality new apps for iPhone and iPad, to the point that I’m excited to take a break from covering all of the App Store action. Hoopa City comes from the makers of Dr. Panda Games. Plan and build a city with different materials, including roads, houses and much more. Let your imagination run wild as you build a village, town or huge city, be it a shopping paradise, beach resort or quiet forest town. Hoopa City will set you back $2.99 on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
Squish: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is a new game by Disney that is aimed for children. Kids can manipulate 3D clay moulds of Mickey and Minnie with easy-to-use sculpting tools, with creations only limited by your imagination. Clay creations can be called to a gallery and shown off to family and friends. Squish: Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is $4.99 for iPhone and iPad.
Disco Zoo comes from the makers of Tiny Towers, and revolves around tiny animals and big fun. The game was recently updated to version 1.2.1 with a new region added to the zoo. Keep your eyes out for a new rescue vehicle, and notice the improvements to the zoo walls that blocks visitors from entering the habitats. Disco Zoo is free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
Launch Center Pro gets bumped to version 2.3.1 with big changes to the way that input tags are processed. You can now manually create complex actions much easier, alongside the addition of Giphy bookmarks, various Connect and IFTTT bug fixes and additional enhancements. Launch Center Pro is $4.99 on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
Injustice: Gods Among Us is an exciting game where you build an epic roster of DC heroes and villains and prepare for battle. The free-to-play collectible card game was recently updated to version 2.1 with new challenges, bonus missions, extra gear cards and more. Injustice: Gods Among Us is free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
Wave Messenger was pushed to version 1.3.0 recently. What’s new is invite contacts, the ability to select all friends for Wave recipients, cleaner inbox and message recipient pages and various bug fixes. The automated image messenger app lets you capture a two-second moment, add a caption and share with friends. Wave Messenger is free on the App Store for iPhone.
On Sale Apps
Stackables has gone free as part of the App of the Day promotion, discounted from its regular price tag of 99 cents. The award-winning app is a comprehensive effects layering and blending tool that comes with over 175 expertly-crafted effects, such as tasteful grunge textures and light leaks. Stackables is free on the App Store for iPhone during the sale.
Real Boxing is available for free this weekend only, so get downloading quick. The ultra-realistic boxing game based on the Unreal Engine lets you duke it out against other gamers around the world, with new tournaments featuring unique rules that are updated on a weekly basis. Real Boxing is free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad while discounted.
Fotor Photo Editor is a photo collage, picture captions, photo effects and borders, and filters and frames app for iPhone that now offers all of its in-app purchases for free. I have not personally tested this app yet, so let us know how it works in the comments section down below. The Fotor Photo Editor app itself is also free on the App Store for iPhone.
