iOS gamers are in for a real treat in this edition of App Recap, a daily roundup that covers the best new, updated and discounted apps for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. If you think you have what it takes to become a Quadmaster, Quadblast is free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.

nanorpgnanoRPG is a new game with cartoonish graphics. You play as a tiny, brave hero that thinks he is worthy of a fight, going up against evil monsters and dragons to save a sweetheart. The game has simple controls for fighting, and upgradable armor and weapons. If you die, resurrect and start fighting again. nanoRPG is free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.

Firefly runnerHelp a courageous firefly named Switch run, fly and shoot to rescue his captured firefly friends in Firefly Runner, an action-packed adventure game set on the stunningly beautiful yet treacherous Firefly Island. Avoid obstacles, collect cherries and perform acrobatic loop-de-loops to gain extra points. Firefly Runner is free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.

Adventure CompanyJoin the Adventure Company on their dangerous quest to obtain riches and glory in Tales of the Adventure Company, a new roleplaying game where you’ll battle terrifying liches, horrific slimes and even gods. The game features over 25 unique monsters, 10 unique heroes, leaderboards for each episode and more. Tales of the Adventure Company is $1.99 for iPhone and iPad.

Cradle EmpiresBecome the Chosen One and help the ancient empire rise from the ruins in Cradle of Empires, a new match-three puzzle game with a rich storyline, thrilling quests and captivating characters. The game is a mega-sized adventure across ancient cities and civilizations, featuring 6 different match-three modes and many power-ups. Cradles of Empires is free for iPhone and iPad.

Updated Apps

Age ZombiesHalfbrick Studios has released an exciting new update for Age of Zombies, a zombie shooting game where you play as a tough-as-nails commando named Barry Steakfries. The action-comedy game gained a brand new Zombie T-Rex vehicle and iOS 7 controller support. The app now sits at version 1.2.2. Age of Zombies is 99 cents on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.

Sleep Cycle AlarmSleep Cycle Alarm Clock, the intelligent alarm clock that analyzes your sleep and wakes you up in the lightest sleep phase, has been updated to version 4.5 with Philips Hue lightbulb support, improved algorithm for detecting wake ups, a backup alarm in case you’re almost out of battery, several performance improvements and minor bug fixes. Sleep Cycle is 99 cents for iPhone.

On Sale Apps

Republique App IconApple has named République as its App of the Week, meaning that it has been discounted from $4.99 to free through next Thursday. Republique is an episodic stealth game set in a dystopian world. A desperate young woman named Hope is struggling to escape from a secret Orwellian state, and it is your job to help her. République is free for iPhone and iPad while on sale.

Robot RaceRace across science-fiction landscapes of the future in Robot Race, discounted from 99 cents to free. In the game, each robot can transform into either a car or a plane depending on the path you take. Play in a single quick race, or through all six circuits, with 7 unique robots and 11 in-game achievements. Robot Race is free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.

APAmigo Pancho has been discounted from $1.99 to free for the first time since late March. The adventure game revolves around Pancho, who loves going to the highest places in the world by holding on to two small balloons. Play on your own or with family and friends, with 5 locations and 100 levels to complete. Amigo Pancho is free for iPhone and iPad during the sale.

A lot of developers release new apps and games around Wednesday at 11:00 PM Eastern, many of which begin appearing on Thursday. While most of those releases are highlighted here, we encourage you to check back tomorrow for some of the other new and updated games that we’ve saved for you to try out over the weekend. If you are an app developer yourself, sharing an iTunes link in the comments section or on our social platforms is the best way to gain coverage consideration.

    • It is a good idea, but I think it would make the post too cluttered. You can easily click on each app link to get a better idea of the game if it sounds interesting to you. That said, I will talk to other iDB team members and see how they feel. Thank you for reading and for your feedback.
