OS X Yosemite Dock

With just minutes to go until the WWDC keynote kicks off, it appears Apple isn’t being so secretive about its upcoming OS X version. Mashable editor-at-large Lance Ulanoff managed to snap this photo of two Macs that will be used to demonstrate OS X 10.10, which is rumored to be named Yosemite. The most notable difference is the dock, which sports a new design that is similar to iOS 7 on the iPhone and iPad…

OS X Yosemite is expected to have a more significant redesign than Mavericks, which focused on refinements, as Apple continues to bridge the gap between iOS and OS X. We will have more details on OS X Yosemite as the WWDC keynote unfolds.

  • Arnold Ziffel

From what I think I can see, I like it!

  • Domodo

Year 2005 called, they want their dock back.

    • Ángel Javier Esquivel

      Loooool

    • TM

      Seriously.

    • John

Year 2005 called, they want their joke back.

    • nopenopenope

I wonder if it will run on my PowerMac. Time to dust it off and make a keynote calling it OSX 10.11. I wonder if the carbon API will return as well. carbon>coca

  • asdfasdf

    looks good!

  • Mini Apple Genius

    Sweet! Can’t wait!

  • Yash Gorana

    It’s like Mac OS X Tiger + iOS 7

    • Patrick Gina

almost. It’s more like windoze 8 + a piece of ugly boiling crap on top.

  • iOops

Took a while to get used to the iOS 7 UI, and I can say I am quite satisfied with it now. I think this will be good for OSX – it hasn’t had any major changes for years, it is a needed change.

    • Mini Apple Genius

I know. I love the new look!

    • Patrick Gina

are you a jony ive, his shill, or just a tasteless hobo?

      • iOops

Obviously have more taste than a hillbilly such as yourself. Time to grow up and embrace the future and not cling onto the past.

  • Technocrz!

Welcome to OSX Tiger, today we will time travel.

    • Ángel Javier Esquivel

      Applause!

    • Mini Apple Genius

      They used Time Machine!

  • Sean Clark

Finally getting back my 2d dock!

  • jp2002

Lol. This is funny. Apple’s event management team is gonna get fired.

    • Sean Clark

Yeah. Now Samsung has half an hour to release a knock-off. /s

    That’s it. I can’t hold it anymore. I’M SO STINK’N EXCITED

    Yeah, my body is ready.
I hate that meme, but I had to say it. I AM READY.
Hey, at least no photo, right? 😀

    • John

      Breathe. Just breathe.
In with the good air, out with the bad……….

    • édith Dupont

Hi ! Jony from all these posters here you’re the I trust who can answer me ; when will apple upload the event on YouTube ?

      • Jonathan

WWDC 2013 was June 10th, and it was posted June 19th on YouTube. So, give or take 10 days. However, a user may upload it sooner. So keep an eye out.

      • édith Dupont

        Merci !

      • Rayan Saeed

Its already uploaded to iTunes Podcasts

    • MoDare

I get that excited when I’m about to ƒuck my sexy gf, not over a new iteration of an OS. But hey, whatever floats your boat.

  • Throndson

They restored these Macs from a time Machine back up……looks like it messed up…..

  • TM

Jeez – going back to Tiger’s dock. So ugly. First thing after install is to hide that atrocity.

    • John

Hmm, who knows. There might be a 2D or 3D option.

      • TM

I hope so! I thought iOS 7’s dock was bad, but this is way worse (at least in my eyes).

      • Zephyron

I can’t stand the iOS 7 dock… I begrudgingly tolerate it because of the additional features. To be honest, Apple taking credit for the transparent crap is hilarious because Microsoft did it first and I hated it then and I hate it even more that Apple has done it. It looks ridiculous.

I like OS X UI, in fact it’s one of the main reasons I bought a Mac. Oh well… Linux next I suppose :/

  • Jason Baroni

    That wallpaper.

    • trumpet444

I’m so glad you didn’t say “dat”.

      • Jason Baroni

        I do my best

  • trumpet444

the first thing i changed on jailbroken ios7 was the Tiger dock. I dont like it on a bigger screen either

  • Nirvana

Cool, iOS 7-ish blurried dock at the bottom, they must have merged iOS design unto OS X! Can’t wait!

  • Siddharth Desai

Can’t we just wait another 30 minutes to see it on the big screen? This is sorta killing the excitement.

    Dock = Disappointment

  • Plain lazy design, like Windows 8…oh well, perhaps this one will bring the benefit of touch-friendliness (like Windows 8) instead of just going fugly.

  • Jamie Tilden

    Yes! Icon redesigns!

  • ExcitedMuch

Watching keynote while waiting for iDblogs!!!

    • édith Dupont

      I’m confused ! , the top looks like ios 7 +
And the bottom looks like ios 6 !

      • ExcitedMuch

Im still on ios 6 babe. And im willing to give up ios 6 for ios 8 😀

      • édith Dupont

        Ios 6 , that’s so 2012 ( just 2 years not a big deal

      • ExcitedMuch

But still i love you. 🙂
